1. How was the war strategy of Athens different from that of Sparta?
Sparta's war strategy was to cut off Athens' crop supply by destroying crops. They did this by taking control of the countryside around Athens. Athens' war strategy was to avoid battles on land and rely on sea power.
6. What might have helped the Greek city-states to be more cooperative at the end of the Peloponnesian War?
Pericles could have been more cooperative with the other city-states, including Sparta. He should have admitted defeat before his death so that there would be less war.

1. How was the war strategy of Athens different from that of Sparta?
Athens and Sparta's strategies were different because they both held different military power. Athens had a huge naval force, while Sparta had a huge army on land. Sparta's strategy was to keep control of Greek land and hold a siege at Athens. Athens strategy was to wall up Athens, but leave the port open to receive supplies. They also took over many small islands in the Aegean Sea. Athens and Sparta had different strategies
6. What might have helped the Greek city-states to be more cooperative at the end of the Peloponnesian War?
They could have all signed an agreement to live in peace with no single leader. They also could have reestablished the Delian league with the treasury being at Delos. This would have helped unite them because with their shared treasury they could have rebuild their war-torn city-states. This would have helped the Greeks join together after the war.

2. Why did smaller city-states resent Athenian control?
City-states resented how Athens used money for beautifying Athens. This caused several city-states to try to break free of Athenian power. After Pericles noticed this, he punished any city-state that tried to. This prevented Pericles from losing power.
5. What can happen to both sides in a war when the fighting goes on for many years? Crops, buildings, structures can be destroyed. Diseases might also pass around since all the people are working closely together. It can also lead to the death of many people. Also, there might be loses of economic power and military power. Another king from another region can take over the city-states which were weak, from the war, to build an empire.

2. Why did smaller city-states resent Athenian control?
Athens was taking more and more share from the Delian League, because of this other city-states started growing weary of Athens's plans. They tried to break free from Athenian control, but Pericles was to punish all who tried to break free.
5. What can happen to both sides in a war when the fighting goes on for many years?
If a war continues for many years in a row, both sides slowly get weaker. One side eventually will give up and surrender because they are too weak to fight anymore, or they lose a major support or leader. This is what happened in the Peloponnesian War, Athenian leader Pericles died of plague; the Athenians then surrendered.

After Peloponnesian War, Athenian city-states had military and economic loss. Lands and crops were destroyed. Thousands of Greek were dead by war. They had to come together to overcome these problems. They might unite and try to solve the problems war caused.

3. What was the Peloponnesian League and who led it? It was a league that stood up to the Delian League. It was league who also didn’t like Athens. It is called the Peloponnesus league because the city-states were from Pelonnessus. They Sparta was the leader of the Pelopenesian league 4. Why did the Greek city-states lose power after the Peloponnesian War? One-third of thens was gone including Pericles and Athens was really developed compared to the other city-states. Also without Pericles Athens became weaker.

Sparta headed a league of city-states to stand up to the power of the Delian League. This is called Peloponnesian League because many city-states were located on Peloponneus. On 431 B.C., Sparta declared a war in Athens. This war is called Peloponnesia war. Pericles led this league.
