1. What effects did the geography of Greece have on settlement patterns?
Since Greece was 60-70% mountains only 20-30% were suitable for farming. Therefore Greeks couldn't settle everywhere in Greece. A usual place for farming were valleys in between mountains. Also many people in Greece settled near the coast for a steady supply of fish. Greece also didn't have a large river to farm on.
2. How did the geography of the Greek peninsula affect the political organization of the region?
Since there were geographical barriers between cities Greece couldn't be united under a single government. At the top of Greek society were rich landowners who had land for farming. They payed peasants to farm and bought farming tools for them. They also paid soldiers and bought them gear to protect the lands. So that is how the Greek society operated at that time.

3. How did the seas affect Greek trade patterns? The Seas were use for transportation routes, and were usede to link Greece together. This made Greeks good sailors and ship builders. The Greeks usually sail around the seas, instead of going right through it. They traded fish that they caught in the seas. If they traded them along short distances, it would be fresh. But, if they traded it along long distances they would dry the fish first. When the Greeks learned the routes of the seas, they could trade to new regions. Also many cities were built on harbours, which makes it easier for trade.
5. Why did the Greeks develop trade with other regions? They developed trade with other regions because barely any of their land was good for farming, most of it was rocky. This cause Greece to not produce much grain. Greece also does not have many natural resources like gold and silver. The only natural resources that the Greeks had was stone. Some regions in Greece had a surplus of olive oil, wine, wool, and fine pottery. This is what they used for trading.

3. How did the seas affect Greek trade patterns?
The Greeks were constantly using the seas surrounding them as a transportation way. The seas affected the Greek trade pattern because the winds could transform into violent storms. These storms could halt the Greek trade system for a while.
4. How did trade with other people contribute to Greek civilization?
