1. Hinduism evolved from Brahmanism. Brahmanism was developed mostly for Brahmans (priests) and not for common people. Hinduism is for everybody living in India. 2. One big difference is that the Aryans had a very complicated religion. They also had a complex writing called ‘Sanskrit’ which is a dead language. The Harappans were eventually driven from India while the Aryan culture remains. 3. The caste system was an occupational system which describes people’s level in society. Reincarnation and Karma because if people were born in a low class and did a lot of good in their life, they would be reborn as a higher class. Also, if you were born in a higher class and did a lot of bad, you would be reborn as a lower class or animal. 4. The reason this theory changed is because the Harappans left India hundreds of years before the Aryans invaded India. Archaeologists know this based on artifacts that they dated. 5. One of the Bhagavad Gita that soldiers only for just causes. Another value is that if you desert a just fight, you will lose your honor. Also, fight for the sake of fighting. Another one is if you die in battle, you go to heaven. The last virtue is that it does not matter whether you win or lose a battle. The main value shown in the Bhagavad Gita is that you have to fight wars even if you don’t want to.

1.What is the relationship between Brahmanism and Hinduism? Hindusim grew out from early Brahmanisim. Both these religons belived in many gods, three important gods are Brahma(Creator), Shiva(destroyer), and Vishnu(protector). Both religons practised sacrifice of animals, they became more complex as time passed. People from both religons were vegiterians.
2. What are some of the biggest differences between Aryan and Harappan culture? Aryans were nomads who herded catle sheep and goat, warriors used bows and arrows, and bronze axes. Aryans speak sanskrit, aryans practiced mysterious religon that appealed to many Dravidins,(the people living in India when Aryans arrived). Harappans on the other hand lived in a city. Harappans had a more complex life. Harappans could afford more their nececities.
3. Explain the relationship between the caste system, reincarnation, and karma. Hindus belive in recarnation, each person has many lives. They believe good allows people for a higher being in their next life, and evil brings people for being in lower caste in their next llife. The cycle ends when a person achieves a mystical union with God that his or her soul is one. Then they have to follow their own path, or karma.
4. What changed the long-held theory that Aryans drove out the Harappan people? People believed Aryans destoryed Harappan cities as they arrive, but there is a theory that earthquakes or floods drove out the Harappan people about 1500 B.C.
For the last question please refer to the passage from the Bhagavad Gita on page 230.
5. What values of a warrior culture does the passage express? we think this passag explains Dharma, because if you are born as warriors, you should do your job – fighting – and if you’re dead during it, your soul will go to heaven and enjoy the earth. But it also says that if you don’t follow it, you will be ashamed and have to regret it.

The relationship between Brahmanism and Hinduism is that they both worshiped gods. They also both have realigous ceremonies that could last for days.
2. What are some of the biggest differences between Aryan and Harappan culture?
Some of the biggest differences are that Harappan’s are city dwellers and Aryans are herders. The Aryans had a language called sanskrit whereas the harappans had a language that nobody but the harappans could understand.
