Welcome Back!
Please respond to these questions with clear statements, multiple examples, and an explanation that connects the statement to the examples.
1. Give two examples of general questions historians ask themselves when they study the past. Also, explain why they would use these questions.
2. What resources do historians particularly reply on when a society does not have a written history?
3. What do historians do when they sort through evidence, such as that involving the "curse" of King Tut's tomb?

1. Give two examples of general questions historians ask themselves when they study the past. Also, explain why they would use these questions.
A: How the leader governs the society, how societies are similar and different. They would use these questions to know more about the early societies and history that repeats itself.
2. What resources do historians particularly reply on when a society does not have a written history?
A: They depend on stories, legends, customs etc. Like the Egyptian curse which killed people when they entered the tomb of the pharaoh. Facts that the archaeologists find can be false but the myths also can be true.
3. What do historians do when they sort through evidence, such as that involving the "curse" of King Tut's tomb?
A: They depend on the most reliable sources of the evidence gathered, and then they sort through the most reliable sources of evidence. There were three people who entered the tomb of king Tut. One of them died shortly afterwards, but two of them lived till about 70.
4. List two facts and two opinions about Stonehenge. What are some key words that are used that help you know that an opinion is not a fact.
A: There were three phases that they worked in. The first phase started at 3000B.C. The deer antlers and ox shoulder blades were found at the Stonehenge. The Stonehenge could have been used for a temple. Also some people believe that the giants could have only built it.
5. Compare a historian's job with that of an archaeologist.
A: The historians study the past by studying stories, historical events, customs, legends, myths, religion, and witness. But the archaeologists study the past by digging and studying fossils and artifacts.

A.How have leaders governed societies? It is to figure out more information about the leaders governing society and to ask more questions about it. It is also to learn more about the rules of current societies.
B.How are societies similar and different? To notice the differences and similarities of the societies and compare them with each other.
2. What resources do historians particularly reply on when a society does not have a written history? The resource that historians rely on is Oral History. Oral History is made up of all unwritten verbal accounts of events. It includes stories, customs, songs, and culture from generation to generation.
3. What do historians do when they sort through evidence, such as that involving the "curse" of King Tut's tomb? The historians chose the most important and most trustworthy information from their research. They use their evidence to find out which parts of their hypothesis were true and which were false. They also search for more evidence to ask and answer their old questions.
4. List two facts and two opinions about Stonehenge. What are some key words that are used that help you know that an opinion is not a fact. Most historians believe that Stonehenge began being built in about 3000 B.C. Some historians thought that it was also a place of worship for shamans. I think the Stonehenge finished being built a long time before shamans lived. I also think that Stonehenge was built with a particular stone from that particular time.
5. Compare a historian's job with that of an archaeologist? The historians’ job is to study and find information about the past. An Archaeologists’ job is to find artifacts and compare the evidence with the past and present. Both the historians’ and the archaeologists’ job connect.

1. Give two examples of general questions historians ask themselves when they study the past. Also, explain why they would use these questions.
How are socities similar and different is one question historians ask themselves. Historians might ask themselves this because it helps them to compare and classify societies. Another question they ask themselves is how have leaders governed societies. They might have asked themselves this to help them learn about the government and rules of those societies.
2. What resources do historians particularly reply on when a society does not have a written history?
They rely on some oral history. The oral history is told by people who have memorized certain historical events. These oral histories may be stories, songs, family histories or just facts. They might also study some tools or building those people used.
3. What do historians do when they sort through evidence, such as that involving the "curse" of King Tut's tomb?
Historians try to sort through the evidence and try to separate fact and opinion. Like the “phaoroah’s curse” people said that the archaeologists that went into Tut’s tomb died because they went inside, but historians found that the people that died of natural causes. Also when people wnet into Tut’s tomb they didn’t die. So they usually separate evidence to help prove or disprove ideas.
4. List two facts and two opinions about Stonehenge. What are some key words that are used that help you know that an opinion is not a fact.
Some facts about Stonehenge are that it was man-made and that the stones used to build came from faraway quarries. Some opinions are that it was built by giants or that it was used as a sacrificial altar. Some key words that help you find an opinion are “I believe” or “I think” or “maybe”. Some key words to find facts are “definitely” or “evidence”.
5. Compare a historian's job with that of an archaeologist.
Historians and archaeologists are similar. Archaeologists job’s are a little more physical than a historians job. Historians have to do more thinking than archaeologists and they have to deal with a lot more unanswered questions. Though archaeologists have to be very patient and careful because they could easily ruin any artifact they find with one mistake. Historians and archaeologists have different jobs.
