I'm glad to be back. I hope you used your time well yesterday. I wish I could have been here. With SAISA around the corner we will have to delay our debate until next week. However, once you submit your policies on this forum, we can reflect upon them and eliminate the ones that we feel are in need of the most improvement.

Immigration Policies - Conservative
Sofie, Rahel, and Eun Ju Developing Nations 1504 words
Appraisal of Future Needs for Workers In the book we read in the class, International Immigration, it is clearly stated that the immigrants benefit the country in many ways. One of the reasons is because these people usually have more kids than local citizens and it will help the aging population in the future (page 88). In addition, according to EBSCOhost (http://web.ebscohost.com/ehost/detail?vid=13&hid=108&sid=df069874-7475-41d3-a33d-a3889e45c8ef%40sessionmgr106) it says that immigrants will help a lot economically in the United States in the future because the immigrants can prevent aging population and decreasing in fertility in the United States. However, we still should not let illegal immigrants or legal immigrants come into the U.S. too much in the future because there are plenty of citizens of the United States that could do the jobs that the immigrants do. Also, even if the U.S. does not have so many immigrants, the country will do fine. Although the immigrants make jobs as they come, the Americans might lose the chances for the better lives by the other people from other countries because the immigrants can be better than any others. In addition, we found out interesting facts from one website and it says that (http://www.articler.com/10519/Illegal-Immigration-Pros-And-Cons.html) illegal immigrants affect the receiving countries in not so good ways, too. The reasons are: they do not pay taxes, people take risks which can be blamed on the U.S., it affects middle-class American citizens in a bad way, fraud works, and the people who succeeded in migrating illegally will encourage other people to migrate illegally, making them take risks which are not good. Another thing is that by reducing the immigrants, it can help the security of the U.S. and protect citizens because there is less chance of terrorism if you limit the people who want to migrate.
Regulation To keep the United States in control, the country has to have immigration regulations that can help the country. In various websites, we found out that the United States is having struggles with illegal immigrants. So we thought that the United States should hire more people for Border Patrol and higher the security systems with military forces to keep away these people who attempt to migrate illegally through the borders. Of course, people always try and sometimes risk their lives to come to the United States. To avoid that, they should find other possible ways that people could travel and block these ways.
We also think that the United States should double check the passports because Rahel, when she was in the airport in India, flying to the US, she saw a lady’s passport that was clearly not hers but the immigration guy let her through anyways. To avoid any unwanted accidents that happen in other countries, they should always double check.
As for normal immigration process, we think the United States should give more short term visa because they can check more frequently and can keep track of people, which is good because the United States can prevent visa overstay-ers. In addition, the United States also should have longer interview and harder ones so you can reject the wrong person. So basically, we think that the United States should have higher and tighter security systems and should make it harder to come to the U.S. Finally, we are going to talk about naturalization. The process should be harder and the U.S. should include the history of America or something hard so that people cannot easily just become a citizen of the U.S. There won’t be anything unique in the country. Also, we know that people who want to be a citizen of the states take tests but it seems like a lot of people become citizens so easily. So the U.S. should limit the numbers and they should consider making one of those lotteries for taking the tests.
Human Rights
We found out that illegal immigrants cannot get any welfare services in the United States because in USCIS website they never mentioned anything about illegal immigrants. We think the United States should keep it that way because they are basically invisible people in the United States. These illegal immigrants never bothered to confirm or have interview and come to the United States legally. People need to follow the United State’s rules if they want to live in the United States. So no welfare services for undocumented immigrants. Welfare services should be limited for immigrants even if they are legal because they are not from the United States originally. If they do not like it they should have thought of all the unfairness and how they will be treated before they migrate. Mistreating happens in all over the world and people should be able to overcome that. Plus, countries are for its people. There will be no United States if all the people could get the same services.
Plus, the United States should not be responsible for discrimination, abuse, or unfair treating to illegal immigrants because like we mentioned, illegal migrants should not have done that in the first place. If these people are experiencing some life threatening stuff, like death or serious illness, the U.S. should send these immigrants back to their countries right away but the country still should not be responsible for any deaths, illness, or any other bad incidents.
There are a large amount of the victims of trafficking. Sometimes people are kidnapped for prostitution and even slaves according to International Immigration. As for the victims of the trafficking, according to USCIS, they let these victims stay in the United States for a certain amount of time, sometimes a bit longer. However, we think that these victims should go back right away to their countries because they are still illegal even if they were forced to. Also, it is for their own safety so they should not complain and it is not like they wanted to come to the United States, so they should be able to leave the country.
Education is another important thing. Again, no education for illegal immigrants because coming in to a country illegally means they do not have any rights for anything. For legal immigrants, we found out that the country makes the immigrant kids learn English. However, we think that before these immigrants can come in, the consultants should check whether the immigrants can speak English or not because we think that language is one of the reasons of ‘discrimination’.
Categories of Immigrants
There are various categories of immigrants. Two major types are non-immigrants and long staying immigrants. More specifically, they are: spouse or minor child of a U.S. citizen, parent of a U.S. citizen, step-parent or child of a U.S. citizen, spouse of a deceased U.S. citizen (immediate relatives), unmarried son or daughter over the age of 21 of a U.S. citizen, spouse or unmarried son or daughter of a lawful permanent resident, married son or daughter of a U.S. citizen, brother or sister of a U.S. citizen (family-based immigration), priority workers, members of "the professions" – persons with exceptional ability in the sciences, arts and business, professionals, skilled and unskilled workers, special immigrants, investors, secondary school students, short-term scholars, trainees, teachers, professors and research scholars, specialists, international and government visitors, camp counselors, summer work/travel students, special education exchange visitors, college and university students, au pairs, foreign physicians, and illegal immigrants although it is not really included in the immigration since these people don’t migrate legally.
For family-based immigration, this should not be qualified easily unless they have special circumstances or unless they can speak English because if all the families are related, the whole world can live in the United States, even though they not likely to happen.
According to the U.S. embassy website, employ-based immigration is qualified under some qualities. However, we think that these ‘workers’ should give every information about them so that they cannot do any harm to the United States or to themselves. Plus, the U.S. should lower amount of the unskilled workers who cannot speak English and also the religious workers. These religious workers must not try to convert the citizens of the states in what they believe in because we think that they have no right to do that. Religion is people’s choice and the citizens of the U.S. have those choices.
As for students and au pairs, they need to be able to speak English and they will have to afford themselves well so that they could live in the United States. For instance, they should have more than certain amount of money to study in the United States or work as an au pair.
If these categories of the immigrants do not follow the rules, the United States should send them back to their countries and banish them forever from the United States since these people did not follow the rules of the U.S. Plus, the United State should or will have to keep track of these people like what they are doing, where they go which is kind of similar to what Denmark is doing these days.

Immigration Policy (liberal)
Sam, Mee Hye, YeEun
Regulation:
Regulation of immigration deals with both legal immigrants and illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants include those who enter the United States without documentation or with forged documentation; lawfully admitted immigrants who remain in the United States after violating immigration law; and aliens who have entered the United States on a temporary visa and remained past the time limit of the visa (www.cbo.gov). Legal immigrants include those who have followed all the necessary procedures to become lawful citizens, or have acquired an appropriate visa through a legal immigration company or embassy.
-Border Control: Each year, millions of immigrants enter the country illegally by crossing the border of Mexico, which is the largest source of immigration the Unites States. These people risk their lives to do so, and very many do not make it across the border. As precautionary procedures, the American Government has put up water tanks in the desert in particularly dry and dangerous areas, constructed unattended way stations at regular intervals in specific paths, and overall increased the safety of the immigrants who wish to enter the country undocumented by crossing the border. However, it is a necessity that the number of illegals entering the country be decreased by a considerable amount. Therefore, in the last year, the American Government has also increased the number of Border Patrol guards, as well as equipped them with better technology to pursue the undocumented immigrants, such as night vision goggles, and increased the intensity and quality of the training in the academies for the border patrol employees. Those caught will sent back to their home country.
-Present Immigration Policies: There are currently 9.3 million illegal immigrants living and, for the most part, working in the United States (57% of which are Mexican born). As previously stated, illegal immigrants are obviously undocumented, which easily poses many problems for them and complications arise due to the understandable unwillingness to reveal themselves to many different legal organizations, which sometimes are quite beneficial (and often mandatory) to those who partake in them. To fix this problem and offer full citizenship to illegals currently in the America, the United States Government has recently proposed a policy that will basically give those undocumented immigrants legal citizenship. All the immigrants who have the undoubted intention of abiding in the Unites States for the remainder of their lives, are in a minimal state of financial stability or have the potential to be in such a state, and have a general understanding of the English language as a whole and can speak it to a certain extent will be eligible for a citizenship. They have simply to apply for one. (Note: this has been done numerous times in America’s past, only with occasionally different policies).
-Future Immigration Policies (legal): Those legally applying for citizenship in the Unites States obviously have to posses certain qualifications to lawfully be bale to do so. There are many scenarios and many complications for these applications, but regardless of their situation, all those who wish to legally become American Citizens are required to possess all of the following: -A decent financial situation. -A basic ability to speak and understand English. -No criminal record. -Reasonable causes as to why they wish to become citizens. -Proof of employment or the intention to become so.
-Future Immigration Policies (illegal) There are not really many chances for these illegal immigrants to be legalized, so there will be an open center called Immigration Amnesty, and these illegal immigrants can honestly say that they are illegal immigrants. Further, if they have been employed at least once in America after they entered illegally, they should report who the employers and what the companies are that hired them so the government agency can actually catch or punish them.
In addition, when they come to this center and give themselves up, they can have a visa called Z-visa (which is one that is currently made in America for these undocumented workers). This visa is actually for reducing the number of illegal immigrants so it actually makes the illegal immigrants to be legalized for four years. Further, in the real policy, this visa is only available for the illegal immigrants who entered America before 1st January 2007, but our group will not think about the date because this is basically why these illegal immigrants come to the Immigration Amnesty. Furthermore, in the real policy, if these illegal immigrants are holding Z-visa, they cannot demand naturalization, so if they want to be naturalized, they first need to go back to their country and wait until the U.S. government report the qualification of them is acceptable or not, for naturalization. But in our group’s policy, we will not send these illegal immigrants back to their country, but we will have them, and while they are staying in America, they can both work and request naturalization.
Future Needs for Workers:
-The qualification of school fee support will be expanded. Since the most benefit of the liberal immigration policy is having more workforces, this broader qualification of support for students would collect more of talents. Specifically, for the talent high school graduates, who are older than 18 years old so having their own right to decide, the government will suggest different amount of college fee support. If the graduates accept these supports, they need to work with an American company after they graduate the college as long as the amount of support they got. Meaning if one student chose to have a support for his or her first grade in the university, they need work in an American company for one year.
Furthermore, these chances of support will be also given to the students in the American International Schools all over the world. So not only the American talents, but by this deal of support, they can also have international talents. In addition, for these foreign students, when they work in an American company as the pay back of college support, they need worker visa. So they will automatically get H-1B visa, and after their payback period finishes, they can choose whether they will be officially employed by the company or just go back to their hometown. So if they choose to be employed, they can also be naturalized when the years of staying in America turn to four. It means if one foreign student needs to finish one year of working in an American company, after one year, he or she can chooses to leave or be officially employed. Then, if he chooses to be employed, he needs to work three more years to be naturalized because including the payback working of one year; it adds up to four years. So basically, this policy’s goal is making more skilled workers to be naturalized.
For the children of undocumented workers, they will also have this chance of college support, and they can have better chance of naturalization than their parents. (Which means these children are not born in America so they are not the citizens nor their parents cannot be naturalized by their children’s citizenship)
Active the seasonal workers like Canada. Actually, the reason America does not really use the idea of seasonal workers is because not like Canada, there are more chances that these workers would not keep the time they should go back to their country; they rather choose to become an illegal immigrant in America. So they have not used this idea of seasonal worker that actively, but our group would like to evaluate this idea. Basically the visa these seasonal workers get is H-2B visa (which is for either skilled or unskilled workers). So instead of making them go back to their country until next season, our group’s new policy will allow them staying in America. And during the time they stay in America, they can either find other domestic jobs, or they can be in a program that would improve their English skill and other business ideas. – This program is based on the U.S. government. So this policy can actually hold these low-skilled workers, and actually improve their skills until the next season they need to work; it is like a school vacation system. They improve and catch up works during the vacation and when the school starts, they need to go back to work.
Human Rights
-Education: Student, who is legal or not they cannot learn because they are poor or illegal immigrant. But Legal immigrant people can have free public education. College, which is special for immigrant make skilled worker. There is course what they can learn the skills and technology. And also the school take them, they can go to work weekend or holiday of school. So they can earn the money also, they can learn the skills. However, Illegal immigrant student cannot have these kinds of system. So when they talk with the centre, which helping illegal people can be a legal immigrant, when they are a legal immigrant then they can join that school. So the school will teach not only student anyone who really wants to be skilled worker. The school is not really course of college but people can learn with out fees. They can get free education in that school. After, they can have job without worrying. And after that, they can work and they can earn the money. But this all process has to be a legal immigrant. Illegal immigrants also have to be legal immigrant. And when they allow being legal immigrant then they can get free education and also, they can get the government job, after few years, if government allow going them other job which they want, they can choose their own job.
-Health Care: Currently in the United States, there are ten states who offer free healthcare. The American government proposes that that this policy be expanded throughout the entire United States, or at least the states that have the highest immigration rates, as to further help immigrants who are struggling. Due to the fact that many immigrants cannot afford to pay for health care, as well as the ever-present fact that they are illegal and perhaps unwilling to reveal themselves to officials of any kind, the previous stated policies will help them considerably, as well as facilitate their health care.
If the human rights needs are met, as well as all the other important needs, the human rights violations will undoubtedly cease, or at least the amount of violations will go down considerably.

Current Laws and Policy We see migrants as important as our citizens, we respect them the same way, and we think everybody is equal. The people who immigrate to our country are most welcome to stay. We think that the world should be open, because it is not only people who immigrate to our country, some of us also immigrate to theirs, and it wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t allow people to immigrate to our country, but people from our country could be able to migrate to others. We are all one world, and whether we are citizens or not, we are still allowed to be in the country as much as they are. We look to promote grater respect for human rights, including freedom from torture, freedom of expression, press freedom, women’s rights, children’s rights, and so on. What they are saying here is that all people are equal and we have the same rights. And that is why we the US allow all immigrants into our country.
Visas Brief Overview With the new Immigration Act of 2008, which took effect on January 1, 2008, there will be an increase on the direct number of visas issued. There will now be a total of 10,000,000 visas issued per year for both permanent and temporary. However more number of temporary visas and work permits will be issued from the pervious years, as this Act will emphasize on the importance of unskilled immigrants to further develop our economy. Our population density is only 50 people per square mile and thus ranked 179 in the world’s chart. We can afford more individuals to come and reside in the United States.
The INA is increasing legal permanent residents entering the US to 3,500,000 million per ear, five times that of last year which stood at 675,000.
The INA in addition is increasing the number of work permits issued to 7,500,00 million per year to stabilize the need for unskilled workers in general as well as specific skilled jobs such as physicists.
There will be however a decrease in the number of student visas issued as other countries have well developed education systems. Only those who receive scholarships can get a student visa. This is basically student visa come work permit and is valid for 5 years unless your studying medicine then you get 7 years.
Citizenship can be gained after living in the country for three years. It could be an illegal immigrant or a legal immigrant. They must show proof of stay and current jobs. They must process basic English skills. They should be able to live without being dependent on someone financially.
If an individual acquires citizenship then his/her closest family members are automatically eligible for permanent residency in the US. They can acquire citizen ship after living in the US for 3 years.
Human rights
Healthcare Migrate should have the same right to go to the hospitals, and to get health care. Our policy says that if you have a sickness or virus like HIV, you emptily healthcare, and a life saving care. They are also human beings and they should also receive treatment no matter what country they come from. In the United States, we give all the people that live in the country healthcare benefits and an opportunity to go hospitals, both the citizens and the migrants. Furthermore both citizens and migrants receive the same benefits, treatment and healthcare.
Language and education The migrates who immigrate to the US, should speak a little English, so they can communicate within the country, and get a job, but we don’t put a high weight on it. Like if a family comes, then it is enough if only one of the family members speaks English. If there are a lot of people from that country, like for example from Spain, there are schools for them, so they still can get an education. So we don’t take language as a big problem, because they can learn to, and we think it is important to give a chance to everybody. Illegal immigrants is on the others side, if we see any illegal immigrants, we try to help them to get the home if they have stayed here less than 2 years, we don’t get their children an education, and we send them home. Because even though we welcome all kind of people, we still don’t want that many illegal immigrants. But we still take them as people like everybody else.
What we do to help To help the illegal immigrants before they come to our country, we try to communicate and work closely with the governments from different counties, like Mexico where many illegal immigrants come from. So the government goes in and tells individuals that maybe they can improve their lives within their country. Crossing boarder Instead of putting up these high boarders, and making people go through desert, it is much better to stop them at the boarder nicely, so the wont die. Because of course we don’t want illegal immigrants in our country, but we don’t want them to die either, because they are human as all others. So what we do is that we talk to their government closely and work with them closely so their lives gets better in there country, so they maybe want to stay in their country, or go to US legally. So we make sure we treat them well, because we think it is important to look at them as normal human beings as very body else.
Regulation of legal and illegal immigrants
The United States is considered a ‘melting pot’ where there are a lot of immigrants legal and illegal coming from all over the world and it is just as true today as in the past. As always, the U.S. needs to have some kind of regulation of illegal and legal immigrants who can have an impact on the U.S. economy quite directly. Yet, the U.S. economy needs these legal and illegal immigrants to keep running the economy. It seems logical that the policies and regulations should therefore be liberal yet should be balanced well so that they can be accepted even by the conservatives. The immigrants issue is very sensitive and should address the concerns of the economy, as well as security, social and political issues and help the society to gain the maximum benefits. It is important because these policies may be a key to defining the future of the country. The main problem in some of the policies that control immigrants is the lack of support from the government to incorporate immigrants into the U.S. society. First thing that can be addressed with the liberal policy are ways to discourage the flow of immigration while at the same time legalizing the long standing illegal immigrants in the country, especially workers, so that one can simultaneously address the human rights issue with regard to illegal workers and concerns of the economy and the needs of the labor, production and other aspects of the market. Social security number – obtain born there, apply for as a citizens, employer hire, Healthcare Rather than punish the immigrants who are illegally employed in the country, the country can prevent these problems by creating penalties for the employers or businesses who hire those immigrants at a lower wage than the labor department specifies. We can also set up water tanks in the desert so that less number of people will die trying to cross the boarder.

US LIBERAL Immigration Policies
To legalize all illegal immigrants currently in the United States who have immediate family members that are US citizens or permanent residents -
If the country has an illegal immigrant that is living with a family member who is a legal resident, it makes absolutely no sense to not give them a legal permit. This policy does not state to naturalize these illegal immigrants, without cause, but it just states to give them a legal residential permit or visa, so that they can receive basic health care and education for their children, without having to worry about getting caught. If the immigrants are already in the country, there’s no point not taking care of them, since they are on the countries land and are the country’s responsibility whether they like it or not. This policy will also help bring separated family members back together. No human bring would want a barrier that stops them from meeting family, especially their own parents or children, and therefore this policy would work well for those people that right now do not have this privilege that should be a right. None of us would want to live apart from our immediate family for the simple reason that we cannot get into the country.
To allow all children of legal immigrants, and illegal immigrants that have legal family members primary and secondary education at public schools and to allow bilingual schools -
A country, like the United States that is dependant on immigrants needs to worry about the human rights of these immigrants, education being a primary one. Although at present in the country, education is not much of an obstacle to deal with for these immigrants, many that have migrated from places like Mexico don’t speak English, and would find it easier to learn in their mother tongue, Spanish. Therefore this policy states that along with regular state public schools, the US should have bilingual schools, where the more used language would be something like Spanish or Mandarin, allowing these immigrants to learn in their language and also giving them a chance to learn English. This will eventually benefit them wherever they are, whether they chose to remain the US or to move back home, they would have had that opportunity to receive and education in their language and learn English. If they are in the country, not educating them in a way that works better for them wouldn’t make any sense. If all people are equal, even if children speak different languages or are not legal, they should receive any education, to benefit the country and more importantly the immigrants.
To help provide jobs for illegal immigrants that are having a tough time getting one or crossing the border back home to Mexico, Cuba etc” -
This policy basically states that private enterprises and other employers should make it easier for illegal immigrants to get jobs without paper work. This policy would only apply to illegal immigrants that are already in the country because once they have crossed the borders there’s no use for them to be unemployed and sit around doing nothing when they could be useful for many things depending on their educational qualifications. For example, any person, who hasn’t even graduated middle school, could defiantly know how to pick cotton or strawberries and would be useful for a simple job like that, and will defiantly be a lot cheaper than local labor since they have no choice, not being in their homeland. A few articles online stated that there were many unemployed illegal immigrants, trying to get back to their home countries, but were not able to cross deserts or get onto boats, the way they did on the way to the US. This was because they didn’t have the same agents that brought them across to bring them back home, and therefore these illegal’s were stuck in the US with no job, family or place to go to from there.
Increase H 1 B visa capacity for all developing nations based on academic qualification -
Countries like the United States depend on immigrants for a lot of work that needs to get done. In many cases, educated people, applying for an H 1 B visa get denied. This policy states that the country needs to increase the amount of H 1 B visas, in specific for developing nations. This policy should work well because people in developing nations don’t have facilities that the US has to use their education to benefit the economy. For example, an educated scientist could do a lot more with the laboratory facilities in the United States instead of those in a developing nation like Bangladesh or Vietnam, and also benefit their country with their research. Educated people like this are often denied visas due to financial or other reasons, which makes it very difficult for these people to enter the United States. Looking into the issue of finance is extremely important but it shouldn’t be the factor that stops immigrants from entering the country if they are well educated and are nothing but help to the country. The US should create a new section to the H 1 B visa, for professionals, only coming in for research or other educational purposes, which will obviously make it easier for educationally qualified people to come in to the country, to benefit the US and their home country. This also gives those professionals the opportunity to work in a developed nation, where their well thought out ideas can be executed better.
To legalize all illegal immigrants who have resided in the United States for longer than 10 years, provided they have no criminal record. -
Even though illegal immigrants lived in one country for a long time for whatever reason, if they lived there for more than 10 years without any criminal record in your country, they should have the benefit of being a citizen of the United States. For example, it is crime to cross the border of one country, but as long as they did not do any of crime in your country and lived in it for over 10 years, they need to get some benefits. However, during the process of crossing the border, if the illegal immigrants do some serious crimes, than they will be put into the jail system and reeducated by the name of liberal. The country would have to try to rehabilitate these immigrants, instead of sending them back home. On the other hand, if they just make a little mistake such as just driving over the limited speed, we can just let go. Therefore, to not make any mistakes on this solution giving the citizen ships to the illegal immigrants, they need to prove they lived in the United States of America more than 10 years. After all these checking systems, than finally the illegal immigrants will able to be the citizens of the United States of America. This policy would be temporary and would only be applicable for six months. This means that all illegal immigrants that have lived in the United States for 10 years, and can prove it within the next six months, and prove they have no criminal record, would be granted citizenship.
To allow health care for all immigrants, legal or illegal. (Because you don’t really want anyone in your country to be sick, whoever it is, they are in your country and are some what your responsibility)-
The country should be able to allow health care for all immigrants whether they are legal or illegal immigrants. For example, sometimes, people send money to poor countries to help people in that country, to cure them from whatever diseases they have. If its so, then why can’t we help the immigrants right next to us who are dying, and not only the people who are so far away? The United States of America is perfectly a liberal country if we follow what Thomas Jefferson wrote on the declaration of independence ‘All men are equal’. How dare the sons and daughters of Thomas Jefferson ignore his opinion about the people? Therefore, not only in human being equality, but it affects everything. Even though this will cost a large amount of money for the citizens, as a name of liberal, they need to protect, help and be a shield of the immigrants. Even though not all citizens get a complete insurance on health care, at least a minimal health care insurance package is a must for all immigrants, not only to benefit them but to benefit our country, because if one of your workers are sick, they aren’t going to turn up to work the next day, therefore causing you to have less labor the get the job done. Therefore, even if for a selfish reason the government chooses to assist immigrants on health care, it should be done.

Conservative policy Devin, divya, and so hee
Introduction:
As conservatives, our duty is to protect the cultural, economic, and political integrity of the public and citizens of America. We feel that our only obligation is to serve the people of our country first and are absolutely against anyone that threatens this. We are the representatives of the pursuit of happiness and liberty. We are here to help.
Legal Immigrants:
As conservatives, we welcome legal immigration. In a growing, flat, competitive world, we need workers, especially skilled professionals to contribute to our economy. America is a country based and supported by many immigrants and we admit that we would suffer without them. We want them to be a part of America and sustain out immigrant status in a gradual matter. We believe that before anything, immigrants need to prove themselves slowly and wholeheartedly in order to enjoy the rights of our citizens. Based on their loyalty and services to the country, we will in turn grant rights in proportions. Some examples of how to prove loyalty is paying taxes, living in the United States for 5 years without a criminal record, etc. and in return slowly they can apply for citizenship and get the right to vote.
In the United States, we allow citizenship to be granted to immigrants, but in a due course of time. For an H1B visa, you must apply and there is a limited time period until it expires. If you have proven that you are a valuable asset to the economy, the government will grant you the right to have a green card for 10-15 years of residence in the U.S. After one receives this, you get this card, you can apply for citizenship as long as you have no history of crimes and pass all national security tests. We are willing to give these visas to anyone who adds to our country.
We feel that a lot of freedom is granted to legal immigrants but that our citizens should receive some extra benefits since they belong to our country and are our people. Voting rights are given to our citizens. When you are a resident with a green card, you can work, pay taxes, and you qualify for all rights of the constitution but you need to have the resident card for 10 years before applying for citizenship and getting the right to vote, along with many more.
As conservatives, we welcome immigrants but are not as willing to grant citizenship. We feel like our citizens are natural citizens of our country and that they have in some way proven that they are loyal to us. We account for all their doings and take responsibility for them because as a government we are the people and need to take care of them. Immigrants need to show us that they are not here to endanger our society and need to prove that they are worthy. Many people may feel that this is not fair, especially in business where because the immigrant status allows hire and firing methods to be somewhat easier than for those who are citizens. We think immigrants should be there to help our country, and if they want to, after a long process, become citizens. We do not think that just because they are working for a company in the US, they should immediately be granted citizenship. The only reason we put the somewhat short time periods on work visa for example is because there may be a point in time where our economy does not require the help of immigrants. Some may view this as selfish, but during their stay, the immigrants were treated well and enjoyed the luxuries that our country has to offer. We do agree that there should be protection rights such as a sufficient amount of notice time before the immigrant needs to find new work and vice versa. This is not using the immigrant because during their work time, they can also leave the company to find a better job, making the risk equal for both the employer and employee. When our economy is in need of immigrants, we will employ when needed and that also helps the immigrant because they will receive a salary in return. We believe in fair approaches, but overall our citizens should come first.
As far as public services and jobs, we believe that crucial positions such as president, members of the Senate, Congress members and jobs like those should be limited to naturalized citizens with other criteria that need to be met. Everything else should be available for all legal residents and immigrants. One thing that as conservatives we firmly believe in is that an immigrant must earn their stay in our country. Laws and rules apply as much to them as us. The right remains with the government to deport the immigrant back to their home country if they commit a first degree crime and that few warnings will be given for less serious crimes until they pass the limit and it is decided that they need to leave the country. We believe that an immigrant, just like a citizen should behave, but unlike the citizen, we are not completely responsible for them because we did not know of their coming before. But conservatives are keen on helping and encouraging immigrants to be safe and allow them to enjoy the luxury of living in America.
Conservatives believe in the giving and providing resident visas for highly skilled professionals to contribute to our country overall. Of course, there are certain requirements they must follow but we would gladly help them easily contribute to the US. We welcome people who are being persecuted in their own country because we are here to help. In terms of social security, we feel that whatever immigrants contribute, they should receive. This rule is only placed for immigrants because being a citizen of the US comes with benefits and they are entitled to enjoying the wealth of the country we all have built. As said in the introduction we believe it to be our obligation to serve the people of the country first and then everyone else. Now I have an example for that, it is in theory supposed to help you understand it a little better. Now I have been in American embassies around the world. Now if one of those were to be stormed or attacked the marines that guard the embassy will first put all the important documents away and make sure that they are safe and then they will look after the people. Now think of the local Americans as the documents, they will be taken care of first then all the immigrants and illegal people are the people in the embassy. They will be taken care of last because they aren’t as important. We can always get more. Illegal-
As conservatives, we are absolutely against illegal immigrants coming into our country. We have seen that they do not contribute to our country and use services that are made for citizens and legal immigrants. In order to stop immigrants from coming into our country, we feel that tougher control on the borders is crucial. With US’ advanced technology and abundant money, we should have more people patrolling borders, spy satellites, border fences; build a wall, and any other humane approach to keeping them out of our country. We do not want to hurt them but we really are against illegal immigration for they do not benefit our country as a whole.
Of course we cannot go knock on doors and find all the illegal immigrants but we would support any program to find them and safely bring them back over the border.
Illegal immigrants should immediately be deported back without any questions or room to stay. All ways to take in illegal immigrants such as making it illegal to employ these immigrants, illegal to live with one, provide housing, give services or assist in any way. Illegal immigrants will not be granted any rights at all and should feel the need to leave the country or drastic measures will be taken. In an argument against amnesty, we believe that if an immigrant wants a chance to be safe in our country, they should do it legally and through the proper methods. If we allow immigrants to come into our country and then give them the opportunity to become citizens, that gives the impression that the laws are lenient and America allows any one to break the rules. There would be no point in spending all the money on border controls if we allow them to come in and excuse any wrong they have done in the past. Anyone residing or wanting to reside in our country should prove their loyalty and in return we will protect them. It should be all or nothing, instead of dismissing the millions who have been waiting for legal citizenship or immigration. Those who are making an effort to come in legally should be rewarded and given first priority. Amnesty encourages people to come in and wait until someone gives them free citizenship. They have not done anything for the country and should not be entitled to any rights whatsoever. We do not encourage illegal immigration at all.
Human rights exist for everyone in the world, from the babies to the adults. But if the immigrants come to U.S. illegally or if they are non-citizens, then they have no rights for education, voting, public service, and health care. First of all, they can’t get education in U.S. if they are illegal or non-citizens, unless they find their own tutors. They are not paying any taxes and even they have no rights to stay in U.S. so they have no rights to get education in U.S. They will be able to study if they find their own tutors, but tutors are not expected to teach the same things as what schools teach to the students who have rights to get education. If U.S. government finds out that the tutors taught the same things, then the tutors and that student will be in trouble because they are not expected to teach or learn that. Second, they have no rights to vote in U.S. at least they get citizenships. The voting is only for the people who have citizenships of U.S. The illegal immigrants or non-citizens can’t vote in U.S. Third, they are not allowed to use public service or health care at least they are in the serious emergency. If they are really sick and they really need the public service or the health, then they are expected to go and see the doctors, and get the evidences that they really need the health care or the public service. If they are in really serious emergency, then they are able to use the public service or get the health care. But there will be a limit because otherwise, every single illegal immigrants or non-citizens will come and try to get advantages.

Regulation
In order to regulate the number of immigrants into USA, the tougher immigration laws against the immigrants should be established and the strong policies should be formulated against the illegal immigrants that still cross the border.
Immigration Laws Even though the certain amounts of immigrant workers are needed to work in order to accomplish the best economic development, the government should enact the laws that can make these immigrants can be kicked out of the country legally. What the US government works on is to maintain the minimum number of immigrant workers to accelerate the industrial, social and economic development till they are needed. But the labor law should guarantee that the local citizen’s jobs cannot be disturbed or interrupted by the immigrant workers. The fields or areas that the migrants work on should be limited to the fields that the locals do not generally work or more hands are needed.
To root out illegal immigrant workers
There are still lots of illegal immigrants that cross the border of US and Mexico. The US government needs to establish the policy that can block them to cross the border and make illegal immigrants difficult to get a job in US. The only reason that a lot of Mexicans try to do dangerous behavior is to get a job and earn more money in US. Without employment and recruitment by US citizens, the number of illegal immigrations will gradually decrease. In order to derive that idea, the US government should not allow the US citizens to employ any illegal immigrants, and when they employ the illegal immigrants, the government should punish them quite harshly. The illegal immigrants who are sought by other US citizens or policies should be sent to their mother countries. In order to avoid the people who cross the border, the US government and the Mexican government should make no man’s land on their border. Furthermore, the number of guards that can block the illegal immigration should increase both Mexicans and Americans.
Realistic in appraisal of future needs for workers The United States government should not provide jobs for immigrants. Immigrants if they come in should not be taking local jobs away from those locals/citizens of the country. With this we will benefit because the population will decrease tremendously. It will benefit because to an extent almost every big or significant jobs would be filled. Since not every job will be filled, locals have more opportunities. Our government should not be responsible for providing people who are not US Citizens with jobs; especially illegal immigrants. Higher and more dangerous border control should take place to prohibit immigrants from coming in. Once they come in they would have to find a job. If they don’t come in at all, there is no job to be found. Other than higher border control, stronger labor laws should take place and employers who hire immigrants should have some punishment. The labor laws should be harsher when directed to immigrants. For example, the minimum wage is generally around $5. For immigrants their wages should be less than minimum wage; say around $2-3---NO EXCEPTIONS. Other than wages, conditions should be poorer than for locals. Hours of work should be longer. Breaks, like lunch breaks or snack breaks, should be less or they shouldn’t have any at all. Employer’s punishments should include; having their own job in jeopardy. In addition to their job being in danger their entire business should be in danger. It’s not enough for just their job to be gone because someone else could step up in their position and takeover. If losing their job or business is not an option their pay should be lessened. This will in turn decrease the immigrants’ pay because their employer won’t have as much to pay them. If the immigrant(s) manage to find a job and an employer that will hire them and the United States government catches them, they should be sent back to their own country and not let back in the country for a number of years depending on the job. If the immigrants’ families have accompanied them and are also there, they should be sent back with them. RULES ARE APPLICABLE TO ALL IMMIGRANTS, NO MATTER HOW OLD THEY ARE.
