My opinion to this current event is that I think it is weird how Mumbai just let all these people behave like this, and that they allow the migrates to stay that way. I mean if they come and destroy the town and make a traffic jam, why would they let them stay? I really don’t get that. Is it because they want to be a popular city – I don’t think that works that way. To look with the citizens eyes, what would they think; I don’t think they like having all those people around, doing stuff like that, and destroying them.
This article is basically about migrants or people from north India coming in to Mumbai dressed in a weird way, and air- kissing, and what they basically are doing is that they are destroying the city, making traffic jams, and woman are dancing on tables in nightclubs, and gays and lesbians flock does once a month to a unclosed part called the Gay Bombay. The worst part is that Mumbai have open arms, the say that they don’t have anything against it, but why would you let your city get that name, I mean Gay Bombay?
This kind of issue might have happen other places too, or I know they do, different kind of people come into the city, and do stuff like this can happen all over the world, and they might as well also have open arms, but I do not think that it is all of them that has that.
- Why it is that Mumbai don’t do anything? - Why does Mumbai have opened arms to them? - Do they think of their citizens? - What does the government do? - What specifically happen at the traffic jam? - Do the people/migrate from up north do anything, in another way to ask, will they hurt people? - Are they evil people or just people there wanted to have fun, and live this way, and destroy the city? - What could be the reason for them to do it? - Why in Mumbai?
I hope, and think what might happen soon or later is that Mumbai will get to tried of them, and send them a way. Another thing what might as well happen is that the migrate from up north in India do something bad, and destroy all the nightclubs, and the people in Mumbai, so the government are going to send them away if the can.

Summary Extremely mixed cultural city is like the well-known description for Mumbai today, but it is basically the cause of current collision between India¡¯s tradition and the new accepted cultures. Moreover, because of these collisions, the migrants from northern-India are targeted as an enemy by the nativists, especially in Maharashtra. So whatever and whoever that tend to reduce the value of tradition, today, these nativists attack them, with their leader, Thackeray. Further, many potential people are also rejected by these nativists if they had done something against the tradition. Therefore, today¡¯s worry in India is how long this attack and collision would be long and, how it will separate the young generation into nativists or the new accepted cultures more opposingly.
Opinion -Why are these nativists opposed to the northern Indian migrants? Basically, the reason this collision is happening is because of the conflict between the tradition and the new accepted cultures. By the way, I cannot quiet understand why the nativists tend to attack these northern Indian migrants because though the northern Indians are not from Maharashtra, they are actually Indians, and share similar cultures and ancestors with the nativists. So if these nativists are angry at the new accepted cultures, then, what is the point of hurting these northern Indians, and what they get by hurting these people?
-Why is this cultural collision showing up now not in the past? Before I answer this question, I would like to talk about the background that India has developed. Over fifteen years, India has developed very fast, and also when they started opening their country to the world, globalization was already very active. So I think in their route of development, they have not accepted only the new technologies, but also full of different cultures. But since India has so many different varieties of religions, this sudden appearance of new cultures probably confused people and their tradition. So at this point of time, after fifteen years, which is enough time for people to realize or feel like their tradition is threatened, they started stopping these fast spreading cultures. But in my opinion, the way they try to protect their tradition is very wrong and violent.
-Considering the future of Indian¡¯s young generation. Actually, the huge concern I have about this event is about the young generations of India because they are either brainwashed by the nativists or only eager to have the new cultures. This leader of nativists, Thackeray tend to gather more young generation for his or their success, but then, I am really angry at the way he teaches and uses children like this. Well though it is clearly true that India¡¯s tradition is kind of threatened, and someone has to do something opposed this issue, the way he uses children and brainwash them is extremely disgusting. Moreover, the reason I worry about this point more is because usually these nativists children are poorer than the children in new culture. So if this concept of cultural collision keep remaining in their mind, then, I think in the future, same as now, they will not communicate about this issue, but the rich people try to put the poor under their control which means this cultural collision will get worse, no, much worse. So I think both nativists and the new culture accepted people should know that this issue is very sensitive because it also contains the issue of Caste, wealthy and deprived.

While I was reading this article I remained shocked of how strange and incredible the world can be, people are fighting just to be the best, lesbian and gay are just one little part of the problem of Mumbai, while people are suffering the poverty there are other people that prefer to fight in mode to prove the supremacy in the city. I don’t understand the reason of why people are doing this, why immigrants that arrive to Mumbai should carry death, oppression and lots of problems that can be reduced.
The article that I read is telling about how the immigrants fro north India are carrying lots of troubles in a city like Mumbai that now is becoming a develop city, specially it’s tells about the consequences of this immigration, what can happen to people that arrive in Mumbai, and also what can happen to native of the city that lives with these new arrivals.
Sometimes I think that people want that this thing should happened, in mode that at the end of the everything these people that asked fro the fight will get something that should be money or new business. The world still be like Mumbai today, and in most of the cases people don’t do anything to block it and reduce the numbers of assassins and criminals. When read the article I asked to myself some questions that still don’t know the answer. -Why this thing is happening in a City like Mumbai? -Who is selling these weapons, and why nobody try to stop them? -For how much time they want to keep continue to live like ? -If the city will come a place of only criminals, what the Indian state will do to take out this problem?
I don’t believe that these people are not doing anything fro the goodness of the city, but if their decision is to keep watching the continue degradation of the city, maybe in the future the name of Mumbai will be just a name where there are hallows criminals, assassin and gay/lesbian.

Discussion Forum – Mumbai, city of open arms, turns hostile
This news article is basically about the city of open arms, Bombay and how it’s turning intolerant. According to this article, Bombay is becoming very hostile in many ways. This talks about the changes in Bombay. It mentions something about migrants from northern India and how local people in Bombay are beating these migrants. Apparently, this is because of one politician in Bombay, Thackeray. According to this news article, he kind of complained that the migrants from the northern India are not adopting Marathi culture and that he will fight back to keep the Marathi culture and its language. This caused the young people to beat northern migrants and they are even troubling a Bollywood star who is originally from the north. Some people who are from Bombay actually think that these migrants are causing troubles in Bombay. Migrants are not the only people who are troubled. Even people who are Islamic are discriminated because they eat meat and are not vegetarians. In addition, people who are not following these Indian rules are troubled and are criticized. I think this article is very interesting because Bombay is modernized city. This article also really shocked me because I do not think northern migrants deserve all these.I did not think this could happen in Bombay. A lot of my friends told me that Bombay is amazing. However, it is sad to see Bombay changing so much. It is good that people are trying to keep their cultures and all but in my opinion, I think they are going too extreme. Citizens of Bombay should accept some of other cultures in India, since Bombay is part of India. Not only Bombay but the whole world should since these kinds of things happen all over the world because there are so many immigrants and so many people who discriminate immigrants. For instance, the Mexican immigrants who live in the U.S. are also discriminated by some of the U.S. citizens whether they are illegal immigrants or not. I guess it’s just one of those things that cannot be stopped. There are some parts I do not understand which means I have some questions. First, what caused this problem and these sudden changes in Bombay? Is it just because of what the politician said? Second, why do people think new cultures are bad for their cities or countries? Last, why do most people kind of avoid the people who are different from them when they see these strangers first time? Is this like human nature or something? Those are my questions. I think these intolerant situations and beating will cease if it is just because of what the politician said but if not, I don’t know, something worse might happen. Well, this news article might change people’s perspectives and maybe the people will stop doing horrible things. I am just taking guesses because no one ever knows what will happen in the future. However, I know that sooner or later, it will stop.

If you can understand this current event, you can see the history of India thoroughly. Mumbai (Bombay) was an important place for India for trading their goods and let the world know who they are. Mumbai still is a place for trading, and it affected from the past, that there are many different religions and different cultures. However, the military squad attacked migrants and even attacked their citizens from the northern part. Actually, before the attack of the United Kingdom, each of the states was different country, and it united because of the United Kingdom. They could be separated, but Mahatma Gandhi insisted that India should be united unless; they will be control by others again. It is one of the reasons that that admirable Gandhi the nonviolence patriot gets blamed by the new generation of India. The new generation of India, usually they are Indian-Americans or people who are dreaming for the division of India to the North and South. People of Southern India, they are the one who are making money and gives resources for the northern parts, but who cannot get any benefits from the north and the government of India. It is even strongly showing in this current event, the way people treated taxi drivers from the northern parts and the government of India just takes a seat and watching the situation and does nothing! However, the most scariest thing is that I hope people of Mumbai and immigrants do not make any association to take revenge on the government or they all leave Mumbai that the city of economy changes to the city of dead. Well, in my opinion the fight in Mumbai is a meaningless discrimination of racism. To keep their own culture and insisting the freedom in their economy, they could solve by conversation instead of meaningless fest fight. Why people learn and regret their unification because of Gandhi, but why cannot they learn from his nonviolence sacrifice for his and others country?

Summary of this article: Basically this article is about the northern Indians in Mumbai. Recently, the young generations in Mumbai and Thackeray¡¯s party are beating the northern Indians up only because they think the northern Indians are changing Marathi culture and language. For examples, they are beating up the taxi drivers because most of them are from northern India, roughing up migrant street vendors, and attacking the cinemas whichever plays the northern Indian films. As you can imagine, lots of people are injured and shocked. M.F. Husain is one of the examples who harmed by this happening. He is a painter of India but he is living in Dubai because some Indians are angry at his nude depictions of Hindu goddesses.
My opinion: Mumbai is the city where I will visit during the spring break, and maybe because of it, I was so shocked when I read this article. In my opinion, protecting own culture is important but also accepting the new culture from the other countries is also important and the new culture will definitely helps the country to develop more. So I couldn¡¯t understand why Thackeray doesn¡¯t want to accept the new culture from northern India, and I thought one of the reasons can be the belief of the religion. This article says Mumbai has lured Muslims, Jews, Christians, Parsees, and Hindus. This article also made me to think about the disadvantages of the strong belief of the religion. Indeed, I found the connection between this article and the project that we are doing recently. As Mr.Hewett said, basically there are two policies, which are liberal and conservative. I found that Thackeray party is very conservative, who are less opened to rapid change and don¡¯t like the changes.
Questions: -Why do the northern Indians migrant to Mumbai although there are lots of different countries and cities that they can migrant? -I think the government of Mumbai definitely knows that this problem is happening. But why don¡¯t they try to protect northern Indians? Are they also opposing to the migrant of northern Indians? -Do everyone in Mumbai is agreeing with what Thackeray party is doing? Is there any different party who are opposing to Thackeray party? If yes, who are they and what are they doing? -What are the solutions for this problem?

Mumbai, city of open arms, turns hostile I bet you have all heard about Mumbai, and what a open and welcoming city it is towards tourists as well as migrants but especially towards new ideas. But at the moment it is facing some trouble with itself. The “city of open arms” is becoming as it looks like a little racist as well as not caring about civic ideals. Is this good or bad? Well, from what the article looks like it is a burden for the country, since the easiness all the people had who lived in Mumbai is currently lost. The freedom everyone had enjoyed and the togetherness, the ability of being able to go to clubs in short skirts and all is starting to fade away, into the past. So many pressures and problems have happened to celebrities lately that they do not like coming or living in Mumbai. Sania Mirza is a good example of that as she originally is from Mumbai, but stopped coming to any tournaments played there because the moment they see her they always have something to say to her which is not right. She is sick of this, she wants to do her own thing and not what people wnat her to do. From a German family who is living in Mumbai, I talked to them on the phone and they said that the amount of western clothes like mini-skirts and hot pants sold there are decreasing, and the pubs are becoming not like before with freedom and all but like you have no fun there anymore. I dont know if that is true but that's what the family told me. It is not right at all that people are going against the north indians and beating them up. I mean what if another city would do it to their people living there, would the city like it? No, I don't think so at all, then why is it that their whole future is changing, they are all becoming vegetarian because the muslims are non-vegetarian and they cannot be the same. But if they mean to continue like this then they soon will experiance some problems in their country. I just hope they don't take it to far, they should still be able to control it. So from the way things have changed, it is difficult to create a modern society, with freedom. The people are making it hard for themselves.

This event is basically about how a politician Raj Thackeray, is basically trying to free Mumbai of migrants, stating that the Marati culture is being lost due this number of migrants. It's reached a limit, where they have tried to hurt celebrities that might have come from the north, but have done wonders for Bombay, as a city. When someone thinks of Amitab Bachan, we automatically think Bombay before Delhi. It basically talks about how this political party has started beating up taxi drivers and other workers from the north, that are trying to make a living in Bombay.
Bombay is considered India's New York, and if that is the image that India wants Bombay to live up to, then how can it not have migrants? We've read before that New York is largely populated with migrants, and that might be one of the reasons Bombay is considered India's New York - because of it's diversity. Bombay being India's business capital does need a lot more than just culture, and that is one thing that makes it stand out. Mumbai contributes a lot of India's factory employment and foreign trade, and these factories there also do need migrants to do their jobs.
This event directly affects the migrants in Mumbai, that are having to deal with this stupidity of the politicians that are against them. Preserving culture is one thing, but going to such an extreme that one tries to hurt people is another. What would Mumbai do without those taxi drivers from North India? Would they be able to fill the same number of taxi's with just Maratis? This will affect not only employees but also employers that have workers from North India that are under this threat because it is the employer’s job to look out for the welfare of his/her workers. Not only will it affect migrants in Mumbai, but also their families in the villages etc that rely on remittances to come in to take care of their housing expenses, children's education and other expenses. This extremely conservative point of view from the politicians might also affect the move liberal party that wants migrants in Mumbai and are trying to create a more diverse culture there.
Are people from your own country migrants in another state? These people are from north India, and need not be considered migrants since they are of the same country and the money they make is benefiting the same countries economy. If these people are so conservative why don't they focus on the migrants coming in from outside of India, for example from places like Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan?
This even is significant because it is about an extremely rapidly developing nation, India's business capital, and how migrants are being treated there. Things happening in Mumbai can affect many other places indirectly, due to connections with that city and therefore anything happening to it's working population there is important to a lot of the world.
Eventually, I think that it's going to be impossible to convince this party that migrants are for the better of this city, but nothing more than this rampage can happen because of the modern culture Mumbai has adopted. Things like this will be important for a few days, and after that will be forgotten about. I think that this will end up being a reality, a debate between two sides, but this debate will never end, and the party in power will probably make the choices at the time.

The article is essentially about a political party in Mumbai who want people are not Marathi to leave. This is an ultimately impossible feat and the idea comes out from a man who probably does not have a degree. Most politicians in India do not have a college education yet people follow them. It is amazing what money can do and even more amazing how people follow money. My point is that the more educated who have better things to do in life than become a politician should not follow them, even more importantly they should influence people not to.
Mumbai is one of the most populated cites in the world. It definitely has to have people for different parts of India and different religions. One politician cannot change the lives of millions. Besides if the people from different parts of India are forced to leave then there would be no Mumbai. I think these uneducated politicians do not realize the consequences involved. The main reason why people follow him is that he is trying to protect their culture and heritage. In this changing world that is impossible. The world is changing and we have got to accept that.
Forget Mumbai for a second and take a look at Tamil Nadu. Raj Thackeray and Karunanidhi the current Chief Minister of TN have the exact same views. Thackeray is protecting Marathi culture by beating up non-Marathi’s, Karunanidhi is discriminating the people from the north saying that they are not true Indians. Well north Indians have learned Tamil and have adjusted well to live in Tamil Nadu but Karunanidhi does not see it that way. Inside that old body of his processes a strong hostility for non-Tamilians. Behind the scenes, unknown to media there is a lot of injustice going on.
All these things should not be going on. Isn’t India a democracy? I think the hostility between two or more communities is not going to change anytime soon. However I think the situation in Mumbai will come under control within a matter of weeks, at least for the most part. I feel this has already been going on and is recently only becoming a major issue.
A big question for Mr. Hewett: Which newspaper is this article from?

Since the birth of the country, India has been overall an accepting place where many come to seek acceptance. Even the official religion of India, Hinduism, is based on the good aspects of different religions such as Christianity, Judaism, etc and put together in an effort to accept all people to some extent. The holy books many Hindus abide by, for example the Ramayana, are based on lives and certain principles people can use as an example for their own instead of setting specific rules for all, allowing room for many more people belonging to different groups and having different interests. Of course many argue that Pakistanis and Indians are the same nationality and should not have spilt up due to the minute differences which caused so much conflict over the years. Though that split is one of the past, we need to learn from that and avoid future incidents like those. It is for this reason and based upon the accepting nature of India as a country, that we need to work together to stop this ill treatment towards migrants, especially those of India.
Migration in India is inevitable. People are moving for whatever reasons, business, pleasure, personal, etc. and no one should be able to stop them within their own country. To me it is like if in my house one day my parents said I am not allowed to go into the kitchen. The thought is just absurd, because I should be able to move around freely in my own home, be accepted and not have the rules just abruptly and randomly for no reason. The opinion of Thackeray is slightly understandable but inconsistent. If he thinks the culture of Maharastra is being threatened, he should not allow the people living in that state to leave or enter any other place so that they can preserve the culture in that one state. Though it is right to want to keep culture, tradition, or language, it is wrong to hurt others because you perceive them as a threat when in reality they are not hurting anyone. Maharastra should keep their culture by promoting Marathi or Hindi and teach others the traditions they want to keep alive, instead of forcing them to leave and cause trauma. He holds an extremely conservative viewpoint which is not wrong, but he is going about it in an absolutely immoral and unecessary way.
Mumbai, being the New York of the upcoming booming India, should serve as a role model for other countries and even other cities within India. Though India is made up of many different places, Mumbai relfects a lot on the reputation of India as a whole, this incident tarnishing its name. Allowing foreign immigrants but not South Indians for examples shows that we are becoming ignorant towards one another instead of accepting the people who help collaborate together and create a successful country, those who nothing would work without. If you cannot be with your own brothers and sisters, how can a country survive at all? I think that many other southern, western, and eastern states have north indians within them and not this much conflict arose, making India an overall peaceful country. A civil war based on which state area one belongs to would be such a pity, tragic to the country and its people.
This political party is closed minded as of now, but the public should bring to their eyes the proof that immigrants actually assist a country and that movement within the country is normal and encouraged. Soon Maharastra will suffer because if they do by chance stop immigration, so many jobs will be left undone and abandoned, slowly leading to the downfall of that particular state. Hopefully they will come to their senses about this issue, not causing further and worse problems in India as a whole.

Mumbai, City of Open Arms, Turns Hostile
As I was reading this article I was really shocked. I couldn’t believe that violence of this kind was erupting in the very streets of communities; especially in a city that welcomed immigrants for years. The first question that came to mind was Why, after all these years, in a city where immigrants were welcomed with “open arms”, are they now getting beaten up because of their own values? Mumbai’s recent discrimination is due to the fact that locals and even a politician, Raj Thackeray, feel that immigrants are bringing in their own cultures and disrupting their local cultures. Even more upsetting is that professional athletes, actors, painters, etc. are being targeted or unable to express themselves in their home country. Raj Thackeray has been holding immigrants responsible for taking the local jobs, and in addition to disrupting their culture, he thinks that they are offending their culture. What confuses me is Why Mumbai was tolerant of immigrants over the years, and now all of a sudden they have become so hostile? Usually communities would want a more culturally diverse group wouldn’t they? It’s extremely upsetting that people haven’t accepted other people’s different cultures and have violently lashed out at them because their values are different from their own. I mean it’s their own personal beliefs that are being targeted. Hopefully, all these attacks will soon be stopped. This kind of publicity does not put the government and politician leaders of Maharashtra in a good light, so hopefully other politician leaders will step in and try and stop the violence.

Since the Bombay is the huge commercial place, Bombay attracts a lot of people from many other areas. And local people started to feel that they are insecure as they have more changes in their area and feel that they are losing their culture. Thus, the local people started to do something about this, especially to people from North Indians. What are the ways that can prevent the new culture flow? What are the ways that people can throw away the stereotype about Northern Indian? Are there any policies that protect migrants?
The local people seem like they believe the fact that Northern Indian is bringing new culture into their area which making changes in culture. They banned the film from North India and even beat them up. Moreover, what I have heard about is worse than the local people in Bombay even attack Newspaper station, TV stations and magazine stations. First of all, the current flow from the northern India conveys the new generation culture clashed with the Indian old tradition. And the way that Indians view the new generation culture is severely negative and harsh. It seems like people doesn¡¯t want to have westernized culture in their movie and even in lifestyle. North Indians are usually more influenced or exposed to the western culture. The media just lets the western culture into the country as the cities are growing and industrialized rapidly. People living in Bombay, the local people seem to abhor the western culture or I can say the new generation culture freer and more open than the original culture settled in India. Eventually, this creates the violence between the local people and migrants from the north part of India. The fast growth and development can bring the wrong conception of the ¡®western culture.¡¯ The surprisingly, believe or not, I have heard that the local people attack and in Valentines Day because this day is westernized concept, Christians.
Another root of the anger is coming from the migrants, taking away jobs in Bombay. I can not say that I am sure about this yet, still it is possibly right. People who use the violence against and harm the Northern Indian migrated to Bombay are usually unemployed youths. People coming from North part of India and taking over their own the places, and this lead the local people be angry with the migrants. In addition, a stereotype of North Indian also plays the role in this situation.
People should leave some space for the new generation because each generation has changes in the culture and people can not stop that. Even though people try to keep preserve their traditional culture, they can¡¯t control the changes. The best thing that they can do is that they should start to accept some of the new culture. And the cultural changes will take some time to be accepted and understood by people.

i think that its weird how these local political cadres were just beating migrants, and it just wasnt any migrant they were from the northern part of inida. the article tells about how people are coming from the north and are bringing with them new ways. the local people there dont like it too much. it also tells that mumbai is a open arm place that accepts every one no matter who they are. but now reacently that has changed. it tells that the city has moved into the modern world but still want to keep most of their old traditional ways. now in recent years most people have been driven away for some reason or another. museum exhibits have been closed down and movies have even been banned. -Why all of a sudden is the city beating migrants and banning things?
i think and bet that the city will get things back into order and make it a safer place again for migrants of all kind. hopefully they wont close down all the nightclubs and be like you cant go here or do this anymore. if they do that they will have even more problems.

Mumbai, city of open arms, turns hostile Intolerance rears its head in cosmopolitan Mumbai Response
In this article the main subject that is being addressed is that lately activists have in Mumbai have been attacking everybody that has got something to do with north India and that just happens to cross their path. The attacks from the activists started on “feb.3, they went on a rampage in Mumbai for several days, beating up taxi drivers (most of whom are from northern India), roughing up migrant street vendors and attacking a cinema playing films from the north”. When I first read through this article, I admit, I did not understand it, at all. I thought it was very jumpy with what it was talking about, and as a result of this I found it hard to find one specific issue that was being dealt with throughout the article. In the end though, after re-reading the article a couple of times, I found that, for one I could finally understand it in depth, but mostly that it mainly talks about three different “topics”. Firstly, the article starts off talking about “squads of local political cadres” “beating immigrants from northern India”. It defends the fact that “Mumbai is a city of open arms” by stating that Mumbai has lured specific religions as well as specific job seekers “more than any other South Asian city”. Secondly, it introduces “Thackeray, a Hindu nationalist politician” who” has made a series of inflammatory statements against migrants from the northern India”, the reason for him doing that was that they had not learned the “local language of Marathi” as well as not “adopting the customs of Maharashtra State”. The third and last point that I am going to be discussing deals with the attack on the “Bungalow owned by Amitabh Bachchan, a Bollywood megastar originally from northern India, and threw glass bottles at it”. When I read this part of the article I was extremely confused. I mean, do these activists seriously believe that they can block the north Indian community out of Bangalore simply by attacking its citizens as well as endangering anybody that has got anything to do with northern India. Personally, I am really trying to understand what goes on in the minds of these people, but I can’t really manage to. So far it has not been possible for me to realize what exactly it is that these Bangalorean activists have got against the north Indian society in Bangalor. I have decided that I will hold further research in order to discover the answer to this.

This article is about the Mumbai. India colonized by England but they are open their arms to their hostile. Because of they want to and they need migrants. Indian wear like a western, this article give example of how people wearing their clothes- tie-clad men and women in floral hats, dressed like English gentry-also Mumbai change the culture of what western doing it. Also in this part have some example, women dance on tables in nightclubs and gays and lesbians flock once a month to a rather uncloseted party. Those kinds of thing, what European did. They changed what migrant want and also having their play and party at all. Before in Northern India, local political cadres beat migrants and people are really violence to migrants or foreigners.
But it is really helpful in India society? When they change their own culture them lot of migrant can come? Is it right way of having more migrant? I think that it will be have problem of when they make those kinds of culture playing. What is problem? Why people have to do that?
I do not think that it is right way of having more migrant because I am sure they will have big problem of that. They will loose their culture and traditional of their doing it. In my opinion, they have to find out the other way to have migrant. For example, they will show to people how they are good in their traditional way to live or change the low of taking immigration like an easy way to changing. They should find out another way to live. If they do not, they go to loose their traditional way to live and then they own traditional culture. So they have to think about that.
Korea, it does not want immigrant but just we are always take Japan’s bad culture. So Korea’s society, there have a lot of problem because of the nightclub etc. nowadays it is really problem and we lost our traditional their play and culture. So it is really bad. So definitely, It will have problem so they have to think about their future!

One of the emerging issues since the globalization started was the conflicts among the different groups of people. Under the multicultural society, the locals have tried to keep their purity and genuineness of their culture, whereas people who have moved from other regions have began to break out and pollute the purity of culture.
The constant conflicts in Mumbai are also the pitfalls caused by the lack of understanding towards different cultures and ideas among the different groups of people. What happens in Mumbai currently is much serious and extreme than many people expect. The leaders of these groups are agitating their people, and it plays an important role in the extreme conflicts among people.
What I cannot understand on these continuing events is the reason why the state government or central government tries to solve it out. Furthermore, I firmly believe that the government could predict these extreme incidents or accidents caused by the tolerance on others¡¯ culture and thoughts. Before the migrants from Northern India moved to Mumbai, the government could take some measures in order to prevent any collision. Since both state government and central government have powers on controlling this issue, they cannot be free from the blame from people.
In order to make this problem end, the change of perception in people would be a significant issue. All of them need to recognize and admit that all kinds of culture, traditions, and practices have the values to be protected and hand over them over the generations unless the traditions are extremely unfit to the present days. Even though it is going to take a quite long time, it might be the beginning of the solutions. Perhaps the government, NGOs, and other organizations try to make these ideas convert into the people. All of them need to work together in order to avoid further problems or emotional clashes among people.
The consequences that have been shown in Bombay might not be just the problem of the city. This kind of problem of multicultural society can exist anywhere in the world since the world has been globalized into one small world. However, most importantly, people should take care of all types of traditions and cultures and show broad mind on the different cultures, then the issue is going to be solved. It will be great that diverse types of cultures exist at the same place and respect it as other values that we should hand over the generations.
