1. In what ways were the Qin and Han dynasties similar and different? The Qin dynasty believed in Legalism and tried to take away all Confucianism from the people. For example Shi Huangdi executed 460 people who believed in Confucianism and burned all books or sources with ideas that he disliked. The Han dynasty was less harsh then the Qin. Liu Bang lowered the taxes, made the punishments less harsh and set up an education system. The Qin and Han dynasty had many similarities and differences. 2. What ruling style did Shi Huangdi choose, and how did it affect his rule? Shi Huangdi believed in Legalism and had a different style of ruling. He weakened the noble families, by taking away their power and land. By doing this he thought he had more power. Also, he set the strong central government; and then let the noble families live in the capital, where he could keep an eye on them. He was a very powerful ruler in his time. 3. Why was the ruler Wudi important in the achievements of the Han dynasty? Wudi, a descendant of Liu Bang, was important because he expanded the land of China. He was also called the martial emperor, because he made a lot of wars, which brought the result of conquering the most land ever in China’s history. He conquered southern China, northern Vietnam, and northern Korea. He also built more highways and irrigation systems. 4. Why were Shi Huangdi's efforts to unify China important? Shi Huangdi’s effort was important for unifying China, because he was the first person to unify China. He stopped the internal wars of the warring states. He drove out the nomadic invaders from China’s border and fought with the Great Wall. -[glow=red,2,300]BAJ [/glow] ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
