(Handing Kaviyan a book) Kaviyan: History of Confucianism?? Are you serious? You want me to read this?? (Flipping through pages) By the way what is confucianism. Jun Young: I knew you would ask! Confucianism is a philosophy which influenced a lot of people all over asia. The person who started this philosophy was a philosopher called Confucius. He lived Chou Dynasty in China. Basically his teaching were about respecting each other, love with in family, and they said people should be honest. Kaviyan: Oh, now I get it. I thought it was some kind of new anti-virus software. Jun Young: Irk.. Aran: Hey guys!! (Aran comes running from the right stage.) Jung Young and Kaviyan : What. Aran: I just got connection to the most secure computer on earth! Jung Young: So? What's the point? Aran: oh.. I can’t even believe you are a computer virus. What ever you coming? Jun Young: I was just thinking... Kaviyan: I’m going. (Aran and Kaviyan exits left) Jun Young: Not again... (Follows and exits left.) Scene 2 (Aran, Jung young, Kaviyan enters right stage) Aran: You got everything? Kaviyan: I think so. (Holding up a rope) Aran: Lets go! (Walking around in a circle then stops) Jun Young: Guys, firewall. (computer program) Aran to Kaviyan: Pass me the rope Kaviyan: Here. (hands him the rope) (all of them starts climbing over the wooden wall) There are two doors in front of them. Aran: Kaviyan come. You’re expert at choosing doors. Kaviyan: One wrong move, we all get caught so just stay still. Jun Young: I have a bad feeling about this. (Kaviyan goes into the left door then alarm starts) Jun Young: Oh my god! I knew this would happen what should we do? We are going to get caught!! I want to... Kaviyan: Be quiet! I can manage it! Aran: Its too late. (three white soldiers enters from right stage) Soldier 1: Look what we got here. Soldier 2: Very brave viruses to try and hack this computer. Soldier 3: What are you doing? Take him to the Virus- Center! (three soldiers hold the Virus) Scene 3 The viruses are caught and they are on their way to the judge. (Goes around making a circle then exits left.) (Stage helpers come and put down a chair on the back stage then the judge comes and sits soldiers and the viruses enters from the left stage) Soldier 3: Go! (Pushes the viruses to the judge) Judge: You dare try to hack our system! I will punish you according to Shang Yang’s rules! Aran: Who is Shang Yang? Jung Young: He is one of the philosopher like confucius. He’s teachings are called Legalism and it started in 3rd century. Kaviyan: So it's good that he is a Legal..ism? Jung Young: No! Of course not. Shang Yang said human nature is wicked and made strict rules and harsh punishments also he cut people into two if they did not report the rulebreakers! (whispers really fast) Judge: Silence! (Slams the chair) I will now decide! Jun Young: Sir please give us another chance! Like confucius said “Love each other and respect each other.” And like Lao Zi, Daois. He said to live in harmony and people should not disturb nature! Both of these philosophers made a lot of changes in China! Judge: Okay, calm down. From your words I made a decision. We will help you to become a Anti- Virus. Now I’m done. Soldiers take them. Soldiers1,2,3: Yes, sir. Kaviyan: I hope I look handsome when I become an anti virus. (Exit left stage) The End Si Hyun ;D

A long time ago three boys, Chou, Lao, and Shang touched something at the same time. This one thing was touched by all three in different time periods. This thing was a tablet . It changed their lives forever. Also, this big mistake takes Chou and Lao to another time.
Scene 1
This scene takes place during the Tang dynasty when Lao was playing with his friend a game in the woods. When Lao lost the ball in the deep woods and he picked it up and saw a temple that was old for a long time. He sees guards, but walks up to it anyways.
Guards: Hey! You can’t go inside this temple, it’s strictly forbidden!
Lao: I am aloud to go this is a temple for Daoism, and I am a Daoist.
Guards: This temple is not like any other!
Lao: Fine, then I want to check it out for myself.
Guards: Dont go! Listen to us.s
Lao: ( Grinning sinisterly, dashes to left stage) So, this is what they actually hold behind these walls, a dumb tablet! Wait untilI tell them how they were acting.
Scene 2
In the meantime ,Chou, a boy that lived during the time of Confucianism went to the temple as well. Except with more unexpected things then Lao had in stores like no strict guards, but in this time period China was in peace and harmony thanks to the ways of Confucius. Confucianism was made during the Zhou dynasty
Confucius: ( curiously glaring and speaking) Chou, I was on a walk with my guards, and on the way, I saw a palatial temple.
Chou: A temple?!
Confucius: ( Dances to left stage in excitement)Yes, there is a temple not far from here and I am not even allowed to go inside myself, so I need your help to get inside the temple.
Chou: ( Shocked in amazement moves all the way to R.) really!
Confucius: Yes they did, they say I am way too important to this place, or something .
Chou: (With great grief) Fine , but nothing will go wrong, right?
Confucius: Chou remember.
Chou: Yeah, respect your family members by their rank and also respect your leaders, but the leaders must set good examples. These are the laws of Confucianism
Scene 3
Guards: Sir you may not enter!
Chou : The king told me to come
Guards: Sir, this is forbidden if you may enter you will enter through somewhere
Chou:( With great excitement) I am O.K.
Guards: Fine, but we warned you!
Chou: Here it is the tablet!
Scene 4
This is during the time period of the Qin dynasty and when Legalism was official to all of China.
Shang:( Breathing in exertion) Hey, can I go inside?
Guards: If you want to suffer the fate of death seven times be my guest ,because Shang Yang is coming!
Shang: I am going inside anyways!
Guard: Hey! Get back here!
Scene 5
Chou, Lao, and Shang: I got the tablet finally!
Chou, Lao, and Shang: ( Touching the tablet simultaneously) Wait What's Going on!
Scene 6
In this scene Lao and Chou find that they travel back in time, while Shang faces severe punishments in the temple like the wall has collapsed so he is stuck inside a temple that is remote with limited time of air supply! Also this temle now looks like a Grotto, Will shang survive in this next scene? Let’s find out.
Chou and Lao: Wow! What's going on! ( astonished by where they are)
Shang: Hey! who do you think you are? ( Angrily speaking) You can’t just barge in here, Shang Yang is outside trying to break through this rock!
Chou: Who is this Shang Yang?
Lao: It is this guy that enforces the laws of legalism, I must’ve come to the time when Legalism was what everybody follows the laws of legalism!
Chou: Okay.
Shang: He is the one that started this cruel law that makes us scared every second of the day ( With great anger) Why couldn’t he not be Lord this is awful, his dumb laws have taken so many of my family away from me . How can he think of something like that? rrrr. Also, if we break the law we must get cut in to two pieces!
Chou: That’s cruel!
Chou: Wow, Im so sorry about that, this isn’t like what I live with.( Feeling in sorrow for Shang) I have lots of fun with our laws written and told by Confucius. There we respect by rank and nobody ever gets severely punished. Furthermore , our leaders had to set good examples for their citizens. You and your friendly citizens deserve more! This is so vulgar!
Lao: Okay(relieved) where I come from we believe in a universal force called the Dao . This is a religious practice that I follow. Also, we don’t like at all , so in the future from all you guys we burned all their texts to ash.
Chou: Ever heard of keeping the old!( Lifting his arms like he is going to whack his friend really hard) You want to know something? I think Confucianism is the best thing that happened to China, unlike Daoism!
Lao: Say it again and the force of Dao will punish you!
Shang: ( Angrily) Knock it off! (Calmly) you guys are all the same, we see that it’s all because of our differences, maybe if we look at our flaws we can be able to fix them!
Lao and Chou: YA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Voice 1: Come on! we kicked Shang Yang out to move on to a brighter future
Lao and Chou: See you later!
Shang: We will meet again.
Scene 6
This journey is teaches me that I have to keep trying to improve ourselves to the very best that’s what my friends thought me. Luckily, in the end Shang became really prosperous This is Lao. This is a memoir of my time sharing where and when i came from. See ya later!

A group of people believing in Legalism – People in the society government A group of children from different philosophies – Friends (one child who believes in Confucianism, one in Daoism, and one in Legalism). A cut out of a tree Baskets for street vendors Shopping bags for shoppers Toys like tops or marbles for the children playing. 1 wooden table. Wooden chairs. Tree stands (boards in the shape and color of trees). Basic Outline of the Play • Introduction:
o The scene is on a street where people are walking around doing daily chores like grocery shopping, street vendors selling foodstuff, children playing on the street and a small group practicing TaiChi under a tree. One or two stern looking government officials are also walking around.
• Rising Action:
o A messenger comes and reads out a message from the government that the government is concerned about land erosion in the areas near the Gobi Desert and rise in yellow dust storms from the Gobi Desert. They are particularly concerned about the most recent sudden dust storm where a large amount of dust entered people’s homes. The government is working on a solution and will keep people informed.
o After the messenger leaves, people on the street stop what they are doing and start discussing the dust storms. People come up with opinions and solutions based on their beliefs. Since there are 3 different philosophies within the group, the discussion turns into an argument.
o The children on the street have stopped playing and are listening to the adults argue. They then start discussing the adults’ behavior among themselves and it occurs to them that the adults are both right and wrong. They are right about the solutions but they are wrong about having to choose just one solution.
o The children come up with the great idea that the best solution is to combine the solutions based on all 3 philosophies and implement them as they work well together.
• Climax: o The children share their ideas with the adults but do not know how to do it. o They run up to Shang who is just leaving and tell him their idea. o Shang is taken aback by how clever and simple a solution the children have come up with. He agrees to help them. o The drummer starts drumming again to gather people together. o People are surprised to see the 3 children standing with the drummer. o Shang announces that the children have something to share. o To start with the children are scared and hesitant but as they start explaining they get braver as they believe in what they are doing. o They explain very politely to the adults their idea.
• Falling Action: o There is a shocked silence after the children stop speaking. o The adults are surprised that the solution suggested by the children did not occur to them. o The children are worried that the adults are angry with them. o An old man from the group walks up to the children and hugs them and thanks them. He tells them that their idea is the best solution and with such bright children who believe in their own philosophies but can still work together, China has a bright future. o • Resolution: o Together, the adults come up with a solution quickly and easily.
Draft of the Play 2 SCENE 1 (Confucianism: Group of people walking up and down a street. An elderly man is carrying a heavy bag and a child asks him if he needs help carrying their bags). (Daoism: A group of Daoists are practicing Tai Chi under a tree). (Legalism: Government officials are walking around making sure everyone is following the rules. Other people, looking scared). (Shang walks onto the stage with a drummer). (A group of children walk onto the stage and spot Shang trying to get people’s attention). Child # 1 – Hi Shang. Child # 2 – Hi Shang. Shang – (looking serious) Hello kids. Sorry I cannot talk now. I have a message from the government to read out. Child # 3 – Oh, no!!! That sounds serious. Child # 2 – (waving, leaves stage right) Bye!!! (The drummer starts drumming to get people’s attention. People start gathering around, then Shang reads out the message) Shang - “There has been another sandstorm, and lots of sand has entered people’s homes. We need to come up with a way to block the sand from reaching our village.” (Shang leaves stage left). (Everyone meets in the meeting area and start to argue about a solution). SCENE 2 Xiang (Daoist) – In Daoism, you must live in harmony with nature, so how about we plant trees between the desert and our village. Chen (Legalist and government official) –No, let’s get the people to pour water on the sand everyday to keep it from lifting up into the air because, we believe human-nature is wicked and will only do good if they are forced to. Meng (Confucianist) – No, we must show respect in to our family member and people in our society. I believe the sand storms are a sign that we are not showing enough respect to each other. So, let’s ask the elderly people what we should do. (Children walk back onto the stage, huddle up in a group, and start to think and discuss solutions). Child #1 – I think the solution is-(stops when interrupted). Child #2 – (Interrupting child # 1) Maybe we should tell the adults that instead of arguing about how to come to a solution that has something to do with their philosophy, they should work together and respect each other’s philosophies. We are part of one country, right? Child # 3 – I agree. SCENE 3 (Children leave stage and re-enter from opposite side to show they are in a new place). (In country government’s building…). Child # 2 – We would like to speak to Shang. Zhou - Shang! Some children would like to speak with you! (Shang comes to meet the children). Child # 1 – We have come up with a way that might help us solve the problem. Shang – (Interested) Yes, what is it? Child # 3 - We have heard someone suggest planting trees between the desert and the village, someone else say we should ask our elders, and another person say we should pour water on the sand everyday to prevent the sand from getting lifted by the wind. Child # 1 - Instead of arguing about one solution. Child # 2 - Combine them, and our solution is right in front of our eyes!!! Children – Can you please help us let the adults know our idea?
(Shang goes back to the village with the children and tells everyone what the children thought up). Xiang – Meng, let’s ask the elders if they think planting trees is a good idea. (They go to a mauve house where the elders have gathered around to discuss solutions). Meng – Excuse me, Xiang thinks planting trees between the desert and village will block out the sandstorms. Xiang – What do you think about this idea. Zhuang – I think that is a brilliant idea but, it will take a very long time for the trees to grow large enough to block out the sand.

Chinese Philosophies Play: Background: In 35th Century, in the district of Hong Kong, China, the germs were disrupting in the human’s body. People couldn’t come up with an idea of killing the germs, and this is the story of the germs having a war with the Leukocytes. Main Character: 1) Edric – One of the leaders in the group of the HIVs (HIVs are the viruses/germs that causes AIDs, which are terminally). Finally gets arrested by System 2713, Jhang, and Hannibal. 2) Jane – The other leader of the HIVs. He has a smart brain, but finally gets arrested. 3) System 2713-The leader of the Confucianism nano-machines. (the Confucianism nano-machines are the extremely tiny machines that heals the human bodies, and protects from germs and viruses) Believes in Confucianism very well. 4) Jhang-The leader of Legalism Tetracycline, (Tetracycline are the molds found by the scientists. They also help killing the viruses and germs.) Also known to be pretty strict. The other leader in the capsule. 5) Hannibal-The leader of the Daoism Streptomycin (Molds found by the scientists. Helps killing the viruses are germs.) 6) (System 2713, Hannibal, and Jhang come from a medicine eaten by the person who gets infected by the AIDs.) Scene 1: (Edric, Jane and the germs are standing on a street of Hong Kong, looking for a weak person) Edric Hah! A weak mortal! (He enters from the L. As soon as he says, he starts to move.) Jane: Yeah! The mortal’s body seems to be very weak! (Jane emerges from the R. He also moves along with Edric.) Let’s get going, germs! Germ 1: Yeah! Another invasion in human’s body! Germ 2: We’ll enjoy this thing! (They race up to the D.) Scene 2: (Edric, Jane and the germs have made it safe inside the person’s body. Then, Edric shouts from the C, after all the HIVs {HIVs are the viruses/germs that causes AIDs, which are terminally} have gathered.) Edric: Now! We will spread out! I and Jane are going to disrupt this mortal’s head! Jane: Germ 1! Germ 2! I’ll give you a chance to kill all the Leukocytes (Leukocytes are the type of bacteria that eats the germs or the viruses.) existing in the legs! Germ 3! Germ 4! You guys will make sure you infect the arms! Germ 5! Germ 6! Kill all the Leukocytes in your sight! Got it, germs? Altogether: Yes!! Edric: We can do it! We are the HIV! (As soon as Edric finishes, the germs 1 and 2 disappear to the D. Germs 3 exits L, and Germ 4 vanishes to the R. Germs 5 and 6 quiescence in the C. Edric and Jane dashed through the U.) (After few minutes, they came back safely getting over the body.) Jane: How did it go?! (He shouted triumphantly.) Germs: Good! Good! Good!! (After a few hours, they totally get over the human, and the human straight gets the AIDS.) Edric: Our Chinese Germs are the strongest! We got through so many Erythrocytes, Leukocytes! Jane: So, are we going to be staying here, or invading another human’s body? Edric: I think it might be better if we just stayed here so the body is still weak, as well as keeping track if this body heals. Jane: Germ 1! Germ 2! You guys will be responsible if any more bacteria will come! Understood?! Germ 1: As you wish!! Germ 2: I’m on it! (Germ 1and 2 skipped through the U.) Edric: Germ 3! Germ 4! You guys are the charge if the body resistant! Germ 3 and 4: You bet!! (They disappear to the D.) Jane: Germ 5 and 6! You guys are staying with us and helping for any kind of wars!! Germ 5 and 6: You’re right, boss! (The HIVs rested for a long time, and then Germ 2 appears from the U.) Germ 2: Emergency! Emergency! Edric: Now what?! Germ 2: Reports! Invaders! Germ 1, my partner has been killed by a beam of ligh… (Germ 2 stays still for a few moment, then collapsed on the ground, looking fainted.) Edric: (Little surprised) who’s up???!!! Don’t be such a coward!! Expose yourself down here! Confucianism Nano- Machine (system 2713): Target Secure! Target Secure! Aim! (Then, the strange bacteria-like nano-machines emerged from the D.) System 2713: (As he sends a signal to hold for the fire to his agents Do not even dare to move! (Suddenly, a cage appears from nowhere, and drops straight at the HIVs.) Daoism Streptomycin (Hannibal): Arrested! Arrested! (There’s the appearance of some few Streptomycin from the L.) Legalism Tetracycline (Jhang): Transport system 49 connected! Carry them to Room no. 423. Lawbreakers! Transport System 49: System activated… 5 seconds to complete… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…0… mission complete! (Then, the Tetracycline appear from the R, Jhang leading them) (A group of Leukocytes appears from the U.) Leukocyte 1: (In a scared voice Who are you? Where are you from? Are you here to kill us? Jhang: Introduce is late; I’m on a mission to arrest the HIVs, but do not worry, we’re harmless to the body. I am the leader of all the Tetracycline, and we take a role of Legalism. Leukocyte 2: What’s Legalism? Jhang: So… there were the 3 philosophies that were released on the Han Dynasty, at the same time. Legalism is made by Shan Yang, Li Si, and Han Fei! We are very strict about laws, and sets harsh punishments to lawbreakers! Hannibal: I am the charge of all the Tetracycline! I belong to Daoism, which is also one of the 3 philosophies. The Daoism was created by Lao Zi during the Han Dynasty. We believe in the force of Dao, or the way. We don’t try to change things, and we cherish the nature. We have an essential force called, “Yin and Yang,” and they have meanings of contrary forces! System 2713: I am the leader of the Confucianism nano-machines! We are deadly peaceful! This depends in some cases, but we are mostly peaceful. We keep the five-relationships (they are the major relationships between junior brother and the elder brother, father and son, husband and wife, ruler and the subject, and friend to a friend) in our mind. We respect each other, obeying the rules that are given, and honoring the higher subjects. Leukocyte 3: You guys became transparent! System 2713: We are not disposable, which means we are used all the time, and we have a lot of mission to accomplish! As a result, we have a time limit. If we cross the time limit, we automatically disappear. Leukocyte 3: What are we supposed to do if you guys won’t exist?? Eventually, there will be more HIVs!! System 2713: Since you guys already have caused AIDs, you guys are now immune to the HIVs. Jhang: My system tells that there’s only few seconds! We got to be going! Hannibal: Then, greetings! Jhang: Teleport System 25 activate: back to our belongings: We are done! (They abruptly disappear in the C. Ever, after then, the Leukocytes were capable of killing the HIVs.)

The Cyber Attack Hey dude, you did good about expressing out the ideas of the three philosophies, but it doesn't include the fact about when and where they were made. Katrina, I thought that some parts were kind of confusing because there were too many characters. Also you should add additional information to answer where and when did this philosophies develop and how does it effect today. Katrina Characters A group of people believing in Confucianism. A group of people believing in Daoism. A group of people believing in Legalism – People in the society government A group of children from different philosophies – Friends (one child who believes in Confucianism, one in Daoism, and one in Legalism). A person who works for China’s government – Shang. Props 1 long plastic stone wall. A cut out of a tree Baskets for street vendors Shopping bags for shoppers Toys like tops or marbles for the children playing. 1 wooden table. Wooden chairs. Tree stands (boards in the shape and color of trees). Basic Outline of the Play • Introduction: o The scene is on a street where people are walking around doing daily chores like grocery shopping, street vendors selling foodstuff, children playing on the street and a small group practicing TaiChi under a tree. One or two stern looking government officials are also walking around. • Rising Action: o A messenger comes and reads out a message from the government that the government is concerned about land erosion in the areas near the Gobi Desert and rise in yellow dust storms from the Gobi Desert. Si Hyun, Your story flows well but it is a bit confusing in some places. Script Scene 1 Two viruses are resting in the USB (Kaviyan and Jun Young in middle stage sitting down on a chair) Kaviyan: Its really boring you know... Jun Young: Read some books.

Vikram, You wanted feedback for sentence fluency and conventions. Your conventions were fine but maybe work on typing errors and spacing. Your play got a little confusing at time like, how did they all get out of the temple? The play should maybe have less scenes that are a bit longer..then it will flow better. Overall I think the play was pretty good. by Vikram A long time ago three boys, Chou, Lao, and Shang touched something at the same time. This one thing was touched by all three in different time periods. This thing was a tablet . It changed their lives forever. Also, this big mistake takes Chou and Lao to another time. Scene 1 This scene takes place during the Tang dynasty when Lao was playing with his friend a game in the woods. Listen to us.s Lao: ( Grinning sinisterly, dashes to left stage) So, this is what they actually hold behind these walls, a dumb tablet! Wait untilI tell them how they were acting. Scene 2 In the meantime ,Chou, a boy that lived during the time of Confucianism went to the temple as well. Except with more unexpected things then Lao had in stores like no strict guards, but in this time period China was in peace and harmony thanks to the ways of Confucius. Confucianism was made during the Zhou dynasty Confucius: ( curiously glaring and speaking) Chou, I was on a walk with my guards, and on the way, I saw a palatial temple. These are the laws of Confucianism Scene 3 Guards: Sir you may not enter! Chou : The king told me to come Guards: Sir, this is forbidden if you may enter you will enter through somewhere Chou:( With great excitement) I am O.K. Guards: Fine, but we warned you! Chou: Here it is the tablet! Scene 4 This is during the time period of the Qin dynasty and when Legalism was official to all of China. Shang:( Breathing in exertion) Hey, can I go inside? Guards: If you want to suffer the fate of death seven times be my guest ,because Shang Yang is coming! Shang: I am going inside anyways! Guard: Hey! Get back here! Scene 5 Chou, Lao, and Shang: I got the tablet finally! Chou, Lao, and Shang: ( Touching the tablet simultaneously) Wait What's Going on! Scene 6 In this scene Lao and Chou find that they travel back in time, while Shang faces severe punishments in the temple like the wall has collapsed so he is stuck inside a temple that is remote with limited time of air supply! Also this temle now looks like a Grotto, Will shang survive in this next scene? Let’s find out. Chou and Lao: Wow! What's going on! ( astonished by where they are) Shang: Hey! who do you think you are? Voice 1: Come on! we kicked Shang Yang out to move on to a brighter future Lao and Chou: See you later! Shang: We will meet again. Scene 6 This journey is teaches me that I have to keep trying to improve ourselves to the very best that’s what my friends thought me. Luckily, in the end Shang became really prosperous This is Lao. This is a memoir of my time sharing where and when i came from. See ya later!

Jun Young: Your script's conventions does not have any serious problems. However, you have forgotten to put some commas, there are small mistakes of your spellings, and you missed some capitalization; anyway, I think your conventions are good enough. The Army Story Scene 1 A white room. Latron enter from u. He is wearing jeans, a dirty shirt and a torn cap. Latron: {A kind of whispering but loud voice} That day i still remember. Everything that happened. It was like a moment, everything happened so quick . But i hope it happens again. { Latron gives a hard look on his face as if trying to remember something that happened long before}. It was me , my name is Latron. There was Rigid and Chronic. We were not on the same side but we soon ended talking to each other like we were meant to meet each other. Stage shakes and all of a sudden Latron goes off stage like vanishing and then the screen closes. When it opens again there is a battle setting. There is ten people on the right stage and ten in the left. They are shooting each other . Army member 1: Kill them all. Army member 2: Roger that. Army member 3: You are going to kill us all. Never! Chronic: Take cover, take cover. Army member 4: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! {Army member 4 dies} Chronic: {gets angry and look at army member 4 die.} Shoot them down. Latron: You are going to kill us? Lets you American *** Chronic: You call me American ***!!! You are Russian ***!!!!! Latron: {Gets angry and shoots at chronic} Chronic: *****!!! {takes cover} A helicopter comes shooting. Army member 6: **** the Germans are here! 10 army members come down. Rigid is one of them. Rigid: Come on boys! We can do this! Scene 2 As the battle goes on against 3 sides for 5 hours, now there is more than thousand soldiers. Latron, Rigid and Chronic are badly hurt. They are on the same tent in the hospital overnight. Scene 3 Latron: I can't believe i am stuck with you guys!!! urgh!!!! Rigid: Hey you must be proud!!!! Latron: Hey! What the heck! Rigid: I heard from the nurse that you guys are losing the war! Boo on you!!!!! Latron and Rigid are arguing for a long time and then Chronic comes in. Chronic: Hey you both stop right now!!!! Latron: fine! In the background the moon goes down and the sun comes up. This happens many times indicating that days are passing by. Soon they talk. Latron: Hey ok. Let’s get to know each other. I am a person who belives in Daoism. It was invented by Loa ZI the great. He is awesome. Rigid: I slept Chronic: Not again. Rigid: I am a more like Confucious person. I love it! Latron: I thought that meant peace and had nothing to do with you! Everyone laughs. Rigid: It was born in the state of Lu! Invented by Confucious. Chronic: I believe in Legalism. Was done by the Han dynasty. It was violence you know. I like it very much. It is strong. Chronic: Seems like everyone is different. But we can still be friends you know! Rigid: Ya. Stage returns like it was before when Latron came in and he there with the same clothes like he was in the start. Latron: We were i think the first enemies to be friends. But i don't know if it is legal. He looks at watch. Ok i have to go. I am going to hang out with Rigid and Chronic. Leaves r stage. THE END By: Kaviyan

Aleena, I think you were quite creative in making your script. But, you need to focus on making it possible for the reader to answer the fifth and sixth question. It is quite easy for the reader to answer the first four questions. China’s Youngest Saviors Setting: Ancient China around 450 BC Modern Day, Library Characters: Ms. Abraham: Works as a storyteller, around 30 years old and wears a floral dress Ai: Poor 12 year old girl wears dirty school uniform of light brown top and dark brown skirt, has jet black hair tied up into a bun, Confucian Mei: Poor 12 year old girl, wears dirty school uniform of light brown top and dark brown skirt, long brown hair which is left open, Legalist Song: Poor 12 year old girl, wears dirty school uniform of light brown top and dark brown skirt, short black hair, Daoist Mother of Mei: Woman in 30’s, Wears old ragged black dress Brother of Mei: Young boy, desn’t go to school wears old ragged blue shorts and top Guard/s: Guards and soldiers of the Legalist, wear clean Red uniform Modern day, there is a Storyteller explaining the story of three girls. She is sitting Stage Left with the children she tells stories to forming a U shaped around her SCENE 1 STORYTELLER: Hello children! CHILDREN: Hello Ms. Abraham STORYTELLER: How are all of you doing today? CHILDREN: Good! Tell us a story! STORYTELLER: Of course! (wondering) What should I tell you today? CHILD: I know! A story from long ago! STORYTELLER: That’s a wonderful idea. What are you children learning about in class? CHILDREN:(chaotic and overlapping) Books! Subtraction! Music! Ancient China! STORYTELLER: Wait, did you say Ancient China? (children nod) I love Ancient China! And I have the best story about it. CHILD: Tell us! Please! STORYTELLER: Of course! (Moving from Stage L. to C.) It starts with three young girls, (looking towards the children) around your age. (facing the audience again) Their names were Ai, SONG, and MEI. They were best friends, but they had many problems too... (The Storyteller exits Stage R and the children Stage L. Now three children are walking home from school from Upstage to Center Stage) (Goes to Ancient China around 450 BC) AI: School was very hard today! And my feet are aching from not wearing any shoes SONG: Yes. I wish we all had more money to buy shoes... MEI: I could ask my rulers if they could give money, but they would get mad. Legalists are like that. (There is a silence in which Song and Ai feel bad for Mei. Mei breaks the silence.) MEI: Would you guys like to come over to my house today? We can play stones! AI and SONG: (in unison) Yes! That would be very fun!! (They walk around the span of the stage in a small circle then a big circle and stop at a mauve hut which is Stage L.) MEI: This is my house, or hut. We can barely afford it. AI: It’s OK. It looks a lot like my house SONG: Mine too. (MEI’s mother comes out of the hut and stops Ai and Song from entering) MOTHER: Do not enter! I can not let a Confucian (pointing at Ai) or a Daoist (pointing at SONG) into my house! It’s forbidden for you to enter a legalists house! (From the corner of her eye, Song sees Mei’s little brother and tries waving to him, but Mei’s mom slaps her) MOTHER: Don’t ever come near my children again! If you do you will regret it. (Taking away Mei) AI: How dare you slap my best friend like that! MOTHER: (Shouting) Do you want me to slap you like that? (Ai, being scared moves back and shakes her head) Now leave!! (Ai and Song leave the house shouting) AI and SONG: Mei!! This is all your fault! You planned this! You’re a horrible friend!! (Song goes to her house and Ai goes to hers.) SCENE 2 When they get home they both receive a letter. Ai is Stage R. and SONG is stage L) AI: (Reading aloud) Dear, Lee family. I am sorry to say that the the Dai family will be executed due to their not reporting you and your family for trying to enter their house.... SONG: (reading where AI left off although in different places) You shall not be punished for this sin but they shall. If you would like to say bye you must.. AI and SONG: (simultaneously) come to see them in the Xi-Yang jail where they shall be punished AI: (shocked) I must go to see Mei! This can’t happen!!! I must go find Song and tell her! (They both run around the stage frantically until they bump into each other Center Stage) SONG: I have to tell you something!!! AI: Me too! SONG AND AI: Mei will die because of the legalists!! (confused) Wait, how do you know? AI: I got a letter SONG: Me too. I’m worried...what will we do... AI: We will go to the Xi-Yang jail and rescue her! (thinking about it) Yes! That sounds right. SONG: No! No! No! It’s far too dangerous. AI: (taking Song by the hand and dragging her to Stage R) We will do it, don’t worry. (they exit) SCENE 3 (Mei and her family are being dragged from Stage L and to the center. They are handcuffed. The Guards are chanting intonations) MEI’S BROTHER: (weeping) Mother! Im scared. Will something happen to us? MOTHER: (whispering) Shush! I will find a way out of this..... GUARD: Bring them here! (shouting) It is time!! (Ai and Song enter screaming) AI: Wait!! SONG: Stop! You’re making a mistake!! GUARD: Who are these...(making a rude face) children? AI: WE are her (pointing to Mei) best friends. (This causes Mei to make a small smile) SONG: Daoists say that people should live in harmony, and not disturb nature whether it is animals or people. Dao means the “way”, and the way, is the right peaceful way GUARD: We don’t care what you Daoists have to say!! AI: Well you should because Confucius also believed in similar teachings. He was inspired by helping people and making sure they were OK. He didn’t believe in killing for something so small. Confucians, like me will fight for what’s right! GUARD: We will make no exceptions! AI: Well at least think about it! (After a long thought in which he is about to say no then he says) GUARD: OK. (Going C. Stage) But only this time will we let someone go. (He uncuffs them and Mei runs to Ai and Song to thank them. They leave Stage Left and while the are leaving they start talking) MEI: I know my mom still not might talk to you, but inside she is very grateful for what you have done. SONG: Thank you for telling me that, it makes me feel better. Just so you know, this was all Ai’s idea (They start laughing then the Guard comes after them) GUARD: You two would be very good leaders and very well at debating when you grow up. (They all start laughing and leave the stage) (They go back to the storyteller who concludes the story) STORYTELLER: Well that’s it children. Hope you liked it! CHILDREN: We loved it!! It was the best one yet! Thank you! STORYTELLER: You are most welcome, next time maybe the story will be told by a purple dinosaur... CHILDREN: Barney!!!!!! (Curtains draw and then curtain call) By: Aleena ;D

The story flows well, but there are a couple of punctuation errors and the idea of Shang Yang, Loazi, and Confucius in the same place at the same time is pretty crazy, because if anyone knew that they were in there city, they would both be killed. 20th April 2012 Aran Selhi Ancient Chinese Philosophy Script Cast: Confucius Laozi Shang Yang Vishnu(Guard) Crowd: Si Hyun Kaviyan Ilari Scene 1 (Set around 551 B.C. to 479 B.C. in China) Ilari: Hey Kaviyan! (running from L.) look at this book that my uncle gave me. Kaviyan: Hey calm down. Is this book about Daoism? Ilari: Yes,why? Kaviyan: Do you know that you could be really badly punished for having this book. I would also be cut into two if you don’t burn that book! Ilari: (Surprised)But this book was a present from my uncle and if I show him this book maybe it could help him to be less violent. Si Hyun: (Walking from R.) Hi guys. Ilari & Kaviyan: (Simultaneously)Hi Ilari: Si Hyun, tell Kaviyan that you don’t have to burn books about other philosophies. Si Hyun: Actually I don’t know for sure, but I do have a book about Confucianism. Vishnu: (Shouting) You three stop there, Kaviyan I thought you were meant to report lawbreakers and there are two right in front of you. Kaviyan: Sorry please don’t cut me in two. Ilari & Si Hyun: (Simultaneously) But we didn’t know that this was breaking the law. Vishnu: Sorry guys but it is not up to me; only Shang Yang can decide. Come on, Come on. Ilari, Si Hyun, and Kaviyan: Where are you taking us?(Exiting from L.) Scene 2 (Shang Yang Sitting on a fancy chair with Ilari, Si Hyun, Kaviyan, and Vishnu walking in from L.) Vishnu: I found these three boys walking around with these(snatching the books from Si Hyun and Ilari) Si Hyun & Ilari: Hey give us back our books. Ilari: That was a present from my uncle. Shang Yang: You should know the rule with books about other philosophies. (Laozi and Confucius walk in from R.) Confucius: Wait, Wait, don’t burn the book, because you might learn something from those two books. Laozi: Maybe you could learn to be less violent. I think you should let people live in harmony instead of being afraid. Confucius: People should have be peaceful, honourable, and should respect others. Shang Yang: (Shouting) You are not the meant to be telling me what to do! Confucius: But we are only giving you advice. Laozi: Well, I don’t like what you are doing to these people so I am telling you what to do. Shang Yang: (Shouting)I can do what ever. Ilari: Calm down how about we vote who should either rule on their own or help each other. Kaviyan: I like that idea Si Hyun: Yeah, me too. Vishnu: Yeah,me three. Brilliant Idea. Scene 3 (Kaviyan, Si Hyun, Ilari, and Vishnu are handing out leaflets to people for voting) Kaviyan: Come on, come on get voting leaflets here. Ilari: Their free no charge of cost.(Everybody runs to them) Vishnu: Wow people love free stuff. Si Hyun: Yeah. Kaviyan: We are out already! Scene 4 (The next day with piles of leaflet next to them with Kaviyan, Si Hyun, Ilari, and Vishnu counting the votes) Kaviyan: So I have twenty, for Shang Yang, ten for Laozi, and nineteen for Confucius. Shang Yang: Yes. Confucius: ahhh, so close Laozi: Wait for the next set then I will be having the most. Si Hyun: So I have ten,for Shang Yang, thirty for Laozi, and eleven for Confucius. Shang Yang: First I ahead of everyone and now I am behind. Laozi: See I told you. Ilari:So I have twenty, for Shang Yang, ten for Laozi, and twenty for Confucius. Vishnu:So I have ten for everyone. Kaviyan: It is a draw. Shang Yang: WHAT! No this cannot be a draw. Then what are we going to do? Ilari: Well, you could just share China by splitting it into three. Shang Yang: Why didn’t you think out that before. Confucius: You can't blame him for anything since he has come up with all the good ideas. Shang Yang: True. (Laozi and Confucius leaves from R.) The End

Bahar, You could have included more details so that it will be more creative and you could have wrote more. WORLD WAR III Characters: Confucius- Mulan Daoist- Mu Shu Legalist- Chang Min Place: Antartica Time: 1258 B.C. -Scene 1- Chang Min- No my belief system is right. Mu Shu- Noooo.... mine is correct Mulan- You know you are all wrong. Mine is the only one that makes sense and makes people happy, unlike your belief systems. Mu Shu- You wish that was true Mulan, everyone knows that mine is the best!! Chang Min- No mine is!!! Mulan- No mine is!!! Mu Shu- That’s it!!! This time it’s WW3 ( World War 3 ) Chang Min- Yes for the first time in your life you are right Mu Shu!!!!! Battle starts tomorrow at any time at the Great Wall of China. So you all better be ready!!! Mu Shu and Mulan- DEAL!!!!!! And then they all go back to their territories to prepare their armies for the big fight tomorrow. -Scene 2- During the night when Chang Min, Mulan, and Mu Shu went back to their territories and then they all go to bed. But Mulan for some reason who can’t sleep thinks about the fight they had and the WW3 they are about to have tomorrow. Why would they have to a enormous war for just a little misunderstanding. Millions of people would die tomorrow just because a stupid misunderstanding. That was wrong and he thought that he should talk to them tomorrow. So Mulan arranged a before the war meeting in the tent. Chang Min- Why have you called us all here Mulan Mu Shu- Yeah Mulan, I thought we were going to war Mulan- Yeah it’s about that.... I thought abotu it yesterday and I think having war because of this reason is lame, stupid, and doesn’t make sense. I say we cancel the war Chang Min- What!!!! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!! Mu Shu- I agree!! Mulan- But think about it for a second. Do we really have to, we can solve this problem by talking to eachother. Chang Min- Of course not!!!! Mu Shu- Maybe Mulan’s right. We don’t need to do war. Ohhh.. Wait.. How about this, each of us put one idea from our belief systems and put them together and then that would be a new belief system. Mulan- I like that idea. How about you Chang Min? Chang Min- Yeah that seems like a nice idea. ALL TOGETHER- FROM NOW ON THERE WILL BE NO VIOLATIONS BETWEEN US -Scene 3- And from that time on no one ever fought over the same subject ever again until the day the died. -The End- by; BAHAR
