Aleena Aran Kaviyan 1.How did Legalists believe government should keep peace among people? They believed that people who did wrong things should be punished and people who did right should be rewarded. For example, they wanted people to report people report if they did anything bad. People who didn’t report were believed to be cut in two and people who reported bad things would be rewarded and treated higher. The main idea is that people who do the “right” things will be rewarded and people shall be punished if they do the “wrong” things. 2. What was the purpose of Confucius' five relationships? He believed that each relationship will help people live peacefully and each relationship had a duty. For example for the younger brother to older brother relationship he said that the older brother should always make dreams that younger brother should follow. He also said that the younger brother should still be respectful to the older brother. Confucius believed that everyone should be respectful to everyone and live a peaceful life. 3. What did Daoists believe about nature? The Daoists believed that the Yin and the Yang were the two nature’s forces that they followed. The Yin, or the black of the symbol, stands for all that is cold, dark and mysterious in nature. The Yang, which is the white, stands for all that, is warm and bright and light. The Daoists say that these forces complement each other. They also believed that these forces are always changing and evolving. 4. How did the Legalists' views of human nature contrast with those of the Confucians? The Legalists’ view of human nature is more aggressive then what the people of Confucianism thought. Legalists’ thought that nature is a wicked thing and people will only do good things if they are forced. Confucians thought everyone should have respect and live peacefully. 5. How might a Daoist respond to Confucius' teachings? They both have something to do with peace they were and they both were thought and created by teachers. ;D ;D by DF pros

Confucius’s five relationships were: Father and Son, Husband and Wife, Elder brother and junior brother, friend and friend, and ruler and subject. These were divided into two categories, which were proper conduct in family, and proper conduct in society.
3. What did Daoists believe about nature? The Daoists believed that there was a universal force called, “Dao,” which guides all things. They also used Yin (black), and Yang (white) which represented the light, warm, and bright. Yin and Yang are always evolving and changing.
4. How did the Legalists' views of human nature contrast with those of the Confucians?
Legalists’ human nature was wicked, and also they thought that people should always have a consequence if they did bad or wrong things. On the other hand, Confucianists believed that human must live good lives, by respecting each other, and also respect by rank or title.
5. How might a Daoist respond to Confucius' teachings?
Daoists never tried to change nature; they wanted to be harmonious with nature. Confucianism was already spread, so they wouldn’t have tried to change their thoughts or ideas.
