What effects did the geography of Greece have on settlement patterns? 70~80% of Greece were mountains, so there weren’t much land for good farming, also there were no large rivers that people could’ve traveled on, and also there were about 20~30%of the land was good for farming. It was a peninsula, meaning it had three edges that are touching water. 2. How did the geography of the Greek land affect the political organization of the region? First, the rocky lands and mountains made it hard for Greece to unite under one government.
